No Atheists
In A Foxhole

Rudyard Kipling

" “When you're left wounded on
Afganistan's plains and

the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle

and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur

" “We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”

“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.”
“Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace,
for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .”
“The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.

“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died.
Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Poll for Bukit Gantang
Friday, February 27, 2009
I have placed a poll for the Bukit Gantang by-elections. It has been placed on the left side bar of this blog. Who do you think will win the Bukit Gantang by-election ? Will it be by a larger majority? Will the people of Perak be happy with a Barisan Nasional win? You are allowed three answers. The answers are as follows:

1. The people of Perak will be overjoyed if Pakatan Rakyat wins.

2. The people of Perak will be happy with a Barisan Nasional win.

3. The people of Perak will be devastated if Barisan Nasional wins.

4. Barisan Nasional with a large majority.

5. Pakatan Rakyat loses with a small majority due to cheating by the Barisan Nasional.

6. Pakatan Rakyat with a larger majority trashing the Barisan Nasional.

7. Barisan Nasional is humiliated and loses it's deposit.

Happy polling everyone.

They are going to back paddle on the toll, they know they will be up shit creek, at Bukit Gantang and Bukit Selambau
Already the signs that the 5% toll hike are being reconsidered are there, in a dramatic twist this evening, outgoing Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi told journalists that the government may reconsider its decision. According to Bernama, Abdullah was concerned that public anger over the latest hike could affect Barisan National's popularity especially ahead of three crucial by-elections. He added that the cabinet should consider ways to defer the toll hike as the public would be further burdened by the ailing economy. From Malaysiakini. They are well known for not thinking things or issues thoroughly. They are infamous for knee jerk reactions.

Take this for instance, in June 2008, the government, the main player being Shahrir Samad, in all his brilliance and intelligence, increased the price of fuel by 78 sen to RM2.70, justifying this increase to the increase of world crude oil prices to US$147 a barrel. However now, crude oil has fallen to around US40 a barrel and hovering there. With one stupid stroke of moronic brilliance on his part, the price of other essentials just sky rocketted. They have not come down since. He single handedly caused an enormous amount of misery for the low wage earners. Please do not forget him.

Using my Standard 4 mathematics, if crude was at US$147 and the price of petrol went up to RM2.70 a litre, would it not mean that if crude oil price has dropped by half, petrol prices should be also half of RM2.70? Not RM1.90 as now. Correct? Correct? Correct? Has anyone noticed lately, this twerp has been laying low. Not a peek out of him. Now another twerp, Works Minister Mohd Zin Mohamed, in making the announcement, said that the government had paid RM245 million in compensation to toll operators to waive the toll hike for last year. This jackass who I doubt ever pays toll describes this blood sucking endeavour as as a 'marginal increase', Anyone out there thinks, this is marginal?

Bus fares are definitely going to be raised, school bus fares, taxi fares, transportation costs, brilliant ain't they? They UMNO cronys/ concessionaires make millions without even raising the prices. The "Beban Negara" MPs pretend to be shocked for instance this fella, Azmi Khalid (BN-Padang Besar) did not deny that he would also feel the impact of the toll hike. "When I was a minister, I never had to pay toll charges, I didn’t even know how much they were. Now that I live in Shah Alam and often travel to Kuala Lumpur, I have to go through many toll plazas and can feel the burden. I’m sure others feel the same way, too," he said. Yeah, right!!!!!!! Another typical arrogant and ignorant Minister.... I will only forgive you if you were riding a motorbike or bicycle to your office when you were the Minister. Otherwise....shut the %&*% up! Malaysian Insider.

Remember the infamous "Change your lifestyle" by Najib. He bought submarines, made deals for the Eurocopter and of course not forgetting the Sukhois'. He forgot that rocketing world oil prices are a boon not only to the government in terms of higher oil revenues but also for the coffers of Petronas. We are not convinced why we should not benefit from the nation being a net oil exporter and why there should not be greater accountability, transparency and parliamentary scrutiny in the disbursement of Petronas funds from its vast profits, especially when there had been extravagant and profligate expenditures in the past which had not been properly accounted to the people.

Okay people, let us humiliate them, "Beban Negara" (UMNO, MCA, MIC, Gerakan and PPP) in Bukit Gantang and Bukit Selamabau. This is the only way you can inflict "grevious hurt" on them, in return for all the misery inflicted upon us, by these bunch called BN, otherwise a"Beban Negara" upon us. Latest: Will there be toll hikes? Minister to respond- in Malaysiakini. Just like I predicted they U turned. In a dramatic reversal, the government has decided to suspend toll hikes of up to 33 percent for five major highways in Klang Valley announced yesterday. The decision was made by the cabinet at its weekly meeting today chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak. From Malaysiakini. If they had gone ahead with it, they really would have been up shit creek without a paddle in Bukit Gantang and Bukit Selambau.

Army is fighting British jihadists in Afghanistan by Kim Sengupta
British soldiers are engaged in "a surreal mini civil war" with growing numbers of home-grown jihadists who have travelled to Afghanistan to support the Taliban, senior Army officers have told The Independent. Interceptions of Taliban communications have shown that British jihadists – some "speaking with West Midlands accents" – are active in Helmand and other parts of southern Afghanistan, according to briefing papers prepared by an official security agency.

The document states that the numbers of young British Muslims, "seemingly committed jihadists", travelling abroad to commit extremist violence has been rising, with Pakistan and Somalia the most frequent destinations.

MI5 has estimated that up to 4,000 British Muslims had travelled to Pakistan and, before the fall of the Taliban, to Afghanistan for military training. The main concern until now has been about the parts some of them had played in terrorist plots in the UK. Now there are signs that they are mounting missions against British and Western targets abroad. "We are now involved in a kind of surreal mini-British civil war a few thousand miles away," said one Army officer. Continued here.....

Barisan Nasional is confident of losing, both Bukit Gantang and Bukit Selambau
Thursday, February 26, 2009
You know why? It is the time of the year to rename itself to "Beban Negara" otherwise loosely translated as "Deadweight upon the Nation". This time they are raising the toll by 5 % for the North South expressway. The toll rates for five highways - North-South Expressway (Plus), Sprint Highway (Sprint), Ampang Elevated Highway (Akleh), Sungai Besi Highway (Besraya), New Pantai Expressway (NEP) - will go up this Sunday. Beginning March 1, road users for Plus will be paying an extra 0.86 sen per kilometre - from 13.60 sen per km to 14.46 sen per km - a hike of 6.3 percent.

This hike was followed up with a politically correct statement, "The increase should not be seen as burdening the people because the quality of the highways will be ensured". From Malaysiakini. Who the #$%# really cares for the quality of the highways! We want it cheap, not for the robber barons to laugh all the way to the bank. They built these highways using the peoples money, they further want to suck the people dry by making stupid statements like the above .

Remember how they raised the price of petrol from RM1.92 to RM2.70, what followed was the spiralling cost of consumer goods to an all time high. Then after a time due to the prices of global fuel dropping, they lowered the price of petrol. Of course, the prices of consumer items remained high. There is no way, they are going to lower the prices. Sharir, this "brilliant" Umnoputra who advocated the increase in the first place, is also reported to have said that if drastic cuts are made suddenly petrol stations and dealers will suffer, on the otherhand it was OK for them to reap bumper profits when they increased prices overnight.

This raising of the toll on the 1st March 2009 by 5%, is surely a brilliant move on the part of the BN. This I believe is an attempt to fill it's coffers for the "buy" elections in the two Bukits. They need millions, like in the KT and Permatang Pauh "buy" elections. This is a sure sign that the BN does not care about the sufferings of the people. All they care is about winning. The petrol hikes caused the prices of essentials to spike, this move on the toll will cause a further spike upwards.

This will cause the rapid increase in prices for transport, food, clothing and things which one cannot live without, including your routine "teh tarik" and "roti channai". Many people are being laid off currently due to the economic turbulence worldwide. Malaysia has not been spared either. In other countries they have programs to ease the burden of the people. Here, in Malaysia they increase the burden on the people. You have the BN to thank for this. So people of Bukit Gantang and Bukit Selambau, show them that you are knowledgeable and all knowing by making sure that the opposition wins by a historic majority. If possible make them lose their deposit. So that these people in the "Beban Rakyat" come down to earth from their high horses with a crash.

They have not yet learnt anything from the 8th March 2008 "tsunami". Let us shock them again, at the Buit Gantang and Bukit Selambau "buy" elections.

The real Slum Dog Millionaire ?
When watching Slumdog Millionaire, there was one thing a lot of people did not understand. In the movie the kids who were from the slums became tour guides and took white people around on tours. Everyone had the same question, how did these kids know English. If they are from the slums how can they pick up one of the most difficult languages in the world? Well here is a video of a kid from the slums who also happens to be selling peacock feathers and check out how many languages he knows. This video was a big hit a few years ago and they just found this kid again in his teenage year and he is still doing the same thing. Check out these clips.

Watch him speak French, Japanese, Italian, Chinese, Arab and so many other languages.

Amazing child, see that spirit, the satisfaction , making the best of what life has given him and absolutely cheerful. I wish I could learn a thing or two from him, I mean really especially that joy and pride in what he does for a living.

Although there is a gulf between the rich and the poor let us remind ourselves that it is the bold, good and noble heart that makes a man rich. He is rich because of what he is and not because of what he has. Source: Curry Bear

'Drunk diplomat's wife' kills man, 23rd Feb 2009 9:17am - (South Africa) by Amanda Roestoff, Beeld
Wednesday, February 25, 2009
Will we ever know the identity of this killer or will it go the way of Shaariibuugiin Altantuyaa ? - edit

Johannesburg - The wife of a Malaysian diplomat allegedly killed a man when she collided with him as he was checking the faulty engine of his stationary vehicle on the N1 in Roodepoort early on Saturday morning. Bystanders say the 37-year-old woman was drunk, but she cannot be prosecuted because she has diplomatic immunity. A source at the scene of the accident said a man arrived in a vehicle with diplomatic number plates shortly after the woman had called him on the phone.

Image: Crashed Renault Clio

Another source saw the man removing empty liquor bottles from the boot of the woman's white Renault Clio and hiding them under his jacket. Beeld was told by a reliable source that the woman from Florida North on the West Rand was travelling on the N1 South in the direction of 14th Avenue when the accident happened at about 01:00 on Saturday.

Hit from behind

Adonis Ndudule, 24, from Ormonde View in the south of Johannesburg, stopped a few hundred metres before the 14th Avenue offramp when the engine of his Volkswagen Beetle started giving trouble. His neighbour's daughter, Sharon Mphofu, 22, was with him in the car. A member of ER24's emergency services apparently passed the Beetle just before the accident and had seen the car with its flashing hazards parked in the emergency lane.

Ndudule was inspecting the engine, which is mounted in the rear of the Volkswagen Beetle, when he was hit from behind by the Clio. He died on impact. An employee of a towing service said the driver of the Clio was so wobbly she couldn't stand on her feet and sat down on the railing next to the road. Then she gave her cellphone to someone else and said in English: "Here! Talk to him!" The man identified himself as her husband and ordered bystanders to immediately bring his wife home. When his request was not heeded, he arrived shortly afterwards and removed the bottles from the Clio. A search on the eNaTIS vehicle system revealed that the Clio was registered to the Malaysian embassy.

Case of manslaughter

A member of the metro police on the scene said the woman told them she had done everything possible to avoid the collision. "We were not allowed to arrest her at the scene - even though she may have been reckless - because she has diplomatic immunity," said Inspector Edna Mamonyane, Johannesburg' s metro police spokesperson. A case of manslaughter was opened at the Honeydew police station on the West Rand on Sunday afternoon. Once the investigation is complete, it will be referred to the Malaysian High Commission who will then decide what steps to take. News 24 South Africa - Beeld

Bowing Down to the Taliban
Pakistan is capitulating to the Taliban in the picturesque Swat Valley, where the Islamists plan to introduce Sharia law. Now the militants' triumph threatens to encourage radicals throughout the region.

The defeat was celebrated as if it had been a victory. The chief minister of the North-West Frontier Province greeted a delegation from the local Taliban. The Taliban officials, with their long beards and turbans, had come to the governor's office to sign a treaty. After arriving in large limousines, the men were seated on velvet armchairs and served food on silver trays. "Today is a historic day," said Amir Haider Khan Hoti, the chief minister of the provincial government, clearly straining to put a positive spin on the Taliban's assumption of power. "An old demand of the people has been met. The new regulation will provide a more efficient legal system."

It was a blatant lie. Most Pakistanis are shocked by the prospect that, in the Swat Valley, thieves could have their hands cut off as their punishment in the future. Khalil Mullah begins his daily radio show on FM 91, a Taliban radio station, at about 8 p.m. The residents of the snow-covered plateau listen to Khalil's religious broadcast to hear the names he reads at the end. Acting as both judge and prosecutor, he announces the names of those required to appear before the Taliban's Sharia count -- and of those who have already been sentenced.

The bodies of these unfortunate residents can be found the next morning on the market square in Mingora. The corpses are hanging by their legs, their heads cut off and placed onto the soles of their feet as a final form of disgrace for the dead. A note under each body reads: "The same penalty will await those who dare to remove or bury these spies and traitors." Read the whole article here....

UMNO will never reform now or in the future with Khir Toyo at it's helm.............
Friday, February 20, 2009
or for that matter with these candidates. What's Malaysia's fate with future leaders like this? Well the future looks bleak when one of the stronger contenders Khir Toyo who makes a self observation during the debate with Mukhriz and Khairy ? His reasoning was, Umno lost support because the party's Malay racism and Islamism are not yet fully carried out. He believed that as long as Umno further promotes Malay agenda and Islamic policies, the party will be able to turn the tide in the next general elections. He said that it is a desecration to the Malay Privileges to allow non-Malays enjoy the same status as Malays. Similarly, non-Muslims should not enjoy the same status as Muslims.

The remarks were not made in the Umno General Assembly. Instead, the remarks, meant to directed to the whole nation, were made in a TV series last Tuesday (17 Feb 2009). Dr Khir still did not understand that the Selangor BN suffered a great loss was because the people could no longer tolerate Malay racism and theocracy. Also, they could no longer tolerate a corrupt, power abuse, bias and extreme government. And he was the then state government leader. After the collapse of the Selangor state government, Dr Khir wished to revive in a new guise by making use of Umno Youth, so that he could extend his political life, expand his territory and realise his ambitions. According to the current situation, he has the highest chance. Don't ask me why, it is an Umno's tradition. And we heard that Umno wants to reform and BN is going to restructure. Yes, under the leadership of Dr Khir.

With these statements by this unemployed dentist, 1st generation Indon Malaysian, former MB and opposition leader of Selangor, I can forsee that he is going to be the new Umno Youth Goon-In-Chief handsdown, as he is the most extreme of all. Well, the other two are a cut of the same cloth, does it surprise anyone? MCA, MIC, Gerakan and PPP must be quaking in their shoes, praying and hoping no one picks up or hears these extremist views. I have yet to come across these rants being reported in the mainstream English press. I think they blotted out these rants. Correct me if I me wrong.

Khir does think that, because like many of his Barisan colleagues, he really does not believe in democracy or in the constitutional rights of the rakyat. At his recent televised debate with two other contenders for the Umno Youth chief post, he persistently argued that it is unconstitutional to regard non-Malay Malaysians as equal to their Malay fellows. The truth is, Khir is just projecting his own problems and insecurities onto the Malays he so vocally claims to serve; as with most politicians from his party, he is the one who is small-minded, bigoted and insecure. It’s no wonder; Barisan can now no longer count on the support of Malaysians, and neither can its leaders. Respect is something you have to earn, and can easily be lost; while Pakatan has been slowly building up respect, Barisan has only seen its reputation shredded over the years. Continue onto The Malaysian Insider.

What Khir Toyol ooops, Toyo is suggesting and proposing is an apartheid like state. As it is, it is already bad enough now. One last thing, Khir, I can bet my last dollar, my Malay friends, my band of brothers will no way treat me like the way you want them to treat me. They might probably would want to kick your sorry Indon arse back to Indonesia , if you do that to me-edit

Are you loyal to Iraq or to the militias?- Motivational speech?
It's tough to imagine a more dangerous thing to do in Iraq than show up at the police recruitment office. So at least they've taken that difficult step. But "I will not help people who will not help themselves" is an excellent sentiment. Iraq needs to start shouldering its own national load. Is it too much to hope for that those who think this soldier is out of line, come face to face with those of us who think this soldier ROCKS? I'm not sure this little speech will have the desired effect. You can't "imbue courage" by haranguing people. These guys will probably go right back to what they were doing before, and their commanders will be worse, because they were humiliated in front of their men.

This is a strong language warning, by now you should know how soldiers talk

A US Army soldier has some ... special instructions for a group of Iraqi police, who apparently haven’t been sufficiently motivated. He abuses them, calling them pussies. Maybe they are.

Reform in Saudi Arabia?
Thursday, February 19, 2009
Saudi Arabia has just had its own St. Valentine’s Day Massacre — a bloodless one that brings hope of much-needed reform. On February 14, Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah carried out a sweeping shake up of his cabinet and government. He replaced several of the government’s top Wahhabi ideologues with others thought to be more religiously tolerant, reform-minded, and with close working ties to the king.

If there is any truth in the adage "personnel is policy", this may be the first real sign that the King, who ascended to the throne in 2005, intends to live up to his long-term but, until now, overblown reputation as a reformer. While nothing is certain, this gives hope that Saudi Arabia may finally be ready to adjust peacefully to a globalized, pluralistic modern world. And, with Saudi Arabia’s disproportionate and distorting impact on Sunni Islam worldwide, this gives hope also for American security interests.

The new head of the muttawah — the religious police who violently enforce Wahhabi dress and behavior strictures on Muslims and non-Muslims alike — is the auspiciously-named, reputed moderate Abdul Aziz bin Humain. The former head of the Consultative Council Saleh bin Humaid replaces the country’s Supreme Judicial Council head, who just a few months ago declared it permissible for Muslims to kill owners of satellite television channels and in 2004 sanctioned Saudi jihadists to go to Iraq to kill Americans. The Grand Ulema Commission is being reestablished with diverse Sunni leaders that will dilute the influence of the hardcore Wahhabis. The king also replaced the cultural minister with the open-minded former ambassador to Lebanon, reshuffled the human-rights commission leadership, and created a new position of deputy minister of education for female affairs and appointed a woman to the post, making her the most senior woman in the Saudi government. What's Malaysia's fate with future leaders like this?
Wednesday, February 18, 2009
"Since the recent general election, voices have risen up in a shrill warning cry that the Malays are now 'under threat'. But perhaps the real threat is the threat to Umno hegemony". - Azmi Sharom in the English daily The Star on Thursday 17 Apr.

All three are bankrupt of ideas and still trying the old worn out formula of stirring Malay chauvinism and stroking their fears. Wake up to the 21st century, Malaysia is 51 years old. We need leaders who dare to speak of Malaysian interests, rather than Malay interests. We need leaders who dare to try to unite Malaysians, rather than just Malays. We need leaders who think of the country first rather than themselves. We need leaders who are forward looking. We live in a wide open world, not a small little 'kampong'. With leaders like these, I cry for Malaysia-edit

I know for sure at least one of these three, Mukhriz, Khairy and Khir Toyo would be made into a Minister or two. This is after getting to become Umno's Goon-In-Chief otherwise know as the Umno Youth Leader, Chief Thug or whatever. How do they qualify to become that? By being extreme, the more extreme they are, the more votes they get. I remember when Musa Hitam, the former Deputy Prime Minister under our Great Leader called on the Malays to be " kurang ajar" . Of course he didn't mean ill manners and arrogant. What he meant was for Malays to be bold, forceful, forthright, which translated by these irrational wannabe youth leaders, past and present has evolved into the real 'kurang ajar'.

The current Youth Chief aka Kerismuddin , was one of those who caused the downfall of the BN in the March 2008 general elections, with all his posturing, waving and ranting about Malay supremacy hurting the feelings of the Malays themselves and the minorities. Do not think of minorities as Chinese and Indians only, think East Malaysian Bumiputeras too. Umno's so called allies in the BN, who are actually subservient to Umno pleaded, cajoled and begged the Umno warlords not to be extreme, in their rants. No, they did not listen.

The coalition with Umno thus became eunuchs and impotent, resulting in their massive losses in the GE and losing 5 states. There is no way the the component members of the BN are going to recover. The fact is, these new contenders for the Umno Youth' s Goon-In-Chief position will further erode the support of the few hardcore supporters in the MCA, MIC, Gerakan, PPP and some of the East Malaysian parties. Which will be an own goal scored by Umno. Umno Youth have always used racial supremacism, to leap frog and become warlords. Without that rhetoric they are not proficient in other issues, it has always been race and will continue being so.

Let us take a look at all three contenders, taking Mukhriz first, the son of our once upon time Great Leader, a has been, ashamed of his Indian ancestry. One statement I can vividly recall attributing to him to was this, " that the May 13, 1969 incident should be seen as a blessing’ . Muhhriz was a member of a privileged family, he, I doubt has seen blood, guts and gore at first hand. For the sake of political mileage in Umno he is willing to make light something so significant.

He has not seen the suffering, the heartbreak and misery of those affected by those victims in that terrible tragedy. A total of 184 people died in that tragedy and more than 350 people were injured. Buildings were burnt down and hundreds of vehicles damaged. Children lost their parents. Shops, schools were shut down. People were living in fear. The country was literally in the state of emergency. The trauma that the country experienced, the years of trying to pick up the pieces and the unspoken suspicion that all races had against each other for many years, could never, never be seen as a ‘blessing’. So analyse this mentality of his, you want him to be our Leader, a mould of the old Dictator, a callous and cold hearted person who has no feelings for Malaysians? Continued here...

Israel launches covert war against Iran
Israel has launched a covert war against Iran as an alternative to direct military strikes against Tehran's nuclear programme, US intelligence sources have revealed. By Philip Sherwell in New York

It is using hitmen, sabotage, front companies and double agents to disrupt the regime's illicit weapons project, the experts say. The most dramatic element of the "decapitation" programme is the planned assassination of top figures involved in Iran's atomic operations. Despite fears in Israel and the US that Iran is approaching the point of no return in its ability to build atom bomb, Israeli officials are aware of the change in mood in Washington since President Barack Obama took office.

They privately acknowledge the new US administration is unlikely to sanction an air attack on Iran's nuclear installations and Mr Obama's offer to extend a hand of peace to Tehran puts any direct military action beyond reach for now. The aim is to slow down or interrupt Iran's research programme, without the gamble of a direct confrontation that could lead to a wider war.

A former CIA officer on Iran told The Daily Telegraph: "Disruption is designed to slow progress on the programme, done in such a way that they don't realise what's happening. You are never going to stop it. "The goal is delay, delay, delay until you can come up with some other solution or approach. We certainly don't want the current Iranian government to have those weapons. It's a good policy, short of taking them out militarily, which probably carries unacceptable risks."

Reva Bhalla, a senior analyst with Stratfor, the US private intelligence company with strong government security connections, said the strategy was to take out key people. "With co-operation from the United States, Israeli covert operations have focused both on eliminating key human assets involved in the nuclear programme and in sabotaging the Iranian nuclear supply chain," she said.

"As US-Israeli relations are bound to come under strain over the Obama administration's outreach to Iran, and as the political atmosphere grows in complexity, an intensification of Israeli covert activity against Iran is likely to result." Mossad was rumoured to be behind the death of Ardeshire Hassanpour, a top nuclear scientist at Iran's Isfahan uranium plant, who died in mysterious circumstances from reported "gas poisoning" in 2007.

Other recent deaths of important figures in the procurement and enrichment process in Iran and Europe have been the result of Israeli "hits", intended to deprive Tehran of key technical skills at the head of the programme, according to Western intelligence analysts. Continued here.....

Pakistan Surrendering
Tuesday, February 17, 2009
This is really, really bad news, as Pakistan surrenders to Taliban terrorists. They made this deal with the same guys who basically killed Bhutto. Those "semi-autonomous" regions will have to be dealt with one day. They are a festering sore and will make a stable Afghanistan impossible. They will make a stable Pakistan impossible too. The Pakistani government does not want to deal with it-edit.

PESHAWAR, Pakistan – Pakistan agreed Monday to suspend military offensives and impose Islamic law in part of the restive northwest, making a gesture it hopes will help calm the Taliban insurgency while rejecting Washington’s call for tougher measures against militants.

A U.S. defense official called the deal “a negative development,” and some Pakistani experts expressed skepticism the truce would decrease violence. One human rights activist said the accord was “a great surrender” to militants.

This didn’t happen during the Bush administration, yeah happening under Obama, yes it is "change", alright!

The Battle for Accuracy in the Media is Engaged: The IDF Weighs in on Casualty Figures
Basing its work on the official Palestinian death toll of 1,338, Levi said the CLA had now identified more than 1,200 of the Palestinian fatalities. Its 200-page report lists their names, their official Palestinian Authority identity numbers, the circumstances in which they were killed and, where appropriate, the terrorist group with which they were affiliated.

The CLA said 580 of these 1,200 had been conclusively “incriminated” as members of Hamas and other terrorist groups.

Another 300 of the 1,200 - women, children aged 15 and younger and men over the age of 65 - had been categorized as noncombatants, the CLA said. As an example of such distortion, he cited the incident near a UN school in Jabalya on January 6, in which initial Palestinian reports falsely claimed IDF shells had hit the school and killed 40 or more people, many of them civilians.

In fact, he said, 12 Palestinians were killed in the incident - nine Hamas operatives and three noncombatants. Furthermore, as had since been acknowledged by the UN, the IDF was returning fire after coming under attack, and its shells did not hit the school compound.

“From the beginning, Hamas claimed that 42 people were killed, but we could see from our surveillance that only a few stretchers were brought in to evacuate people,” said Levi, adding that the CLA contacted the PA Health Ministry and asked for the names of the dead. “We were told that Hamas was hiding the number of dead.” The source....

For he to-day that sheds his blood with me ...................
Monday, February 16, 2009
He that shall live this day, and see old age, Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours, And say 'To-morrow is Saint Crispian.' Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars, And say 'These wounds I had on Crispian's day.' Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot, But he'll remember, with advantages, What feats he did that day. Then shall our names, Familiar in his mouth as household words- Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter, Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester- Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red.

This story shall the good man teach his son; And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by, From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remembered- We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition; And gentlemen in England now-a-bed Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day. John 8:7 He that is without sin among you......
So when they continued asking him , he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. Khir Toyo, "Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. " (Romans 2:1) Khir Toyo is no paragon of virtue, he should just shut the @#$% up!!!!!

The problem with this 1st generation Indon Malaysian, unemployed dentist, Umno Youth's wannabee Gooon-In-Chief, should not throw stones when he himself lives in a glass house. The problem with him is that he is too thick skinned to feel anything. He wants Eli to quit, following the circulation of her nude photographs from Malaysiakini . Why should she? He compares the moment of Dr Chua Soi Lek in coitus with Eli's predicament, the man was married! He was cheating on his wife. Don't let me get started on your colleagues in UMNO. He of course does not mention another of his soon to be Boss who was caught in a delicate situation with an artiste in Port Dickson. People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. They never learn.

It is nothing but despicable and gutter politics to use photographs of a woman, taken when she is at her most vulnerable, to tarnish her and attack the party she represents. Selangor exco-member Elizabeth Wong, single, has the misfortune of associating with a former boyfriend who probably took the photographs that are now being used by her political enemies to bring her down and consequently tar the Pakatan Rakyat as immoral. Baradan Kuppusamy in The Malaysian Insider.

Here are some facts for the unemployed dentist cum opposition leader, wannabe Umno Youth's Goon-In-Chief, Eli is not married. Those photos were taken by an ex boyfriend, maybe an opportunistic scumbag. She was sleeping when the photos were taken, moron, when she was unaware. She has mentioned once in her blog, during the campaign period (March 2008 GE), that she missed her boyfriend, which means that she was in love. Even if she was aware, so what, who are you Khir Toyo to be judgemental? It's nothing to do with double standards either. Khir Toyo, we know you, we know that you have sinned many a time, we know that your sins are many. Give this a rest, it was only an affair of the heart which has gone sour. I will not be at all surprised if you turn out to be the architect of this dark deed.

Elizabeth, chin up, there are alot of people out there who will walk a mile for you and more. Why should you resign? Your job is to serve the people. It is not similar to the sex scandal involving (former Health Minister Dr) Chua Soi Lek because he is a married man and he was engaged in something that was morally wrong. If you do quit, it would make you look guilty, which you are not. We voted you in, we support you, stay put with your head held high. So what is there to worry ? Stay strong. Khir Toyo should be the last person on earth to preach morality.

Utusan Malaysia's vile bile against the Herald

This is what Utusan Malaysia is all about. I know that most right minded Malaysians do not read this race baiting UMNO paper. Here below is a compilation of what it did against the HERALD. It showed it's true "tolerant" nature, spewing forth vile bile.

A flying pig moment
Saturday, February 14, 2009
Well, whadaya know. A demonstration headed by a 1st generation Indonesian Malaysian, unemployed doctor and ex MB were foiled by the Police. Dr Mohd Khir Toyo and a local Umno Youth leader were picked up by the police for questioning in an aborted protest march against veteran parliamentarian Karpal Singh in George Town today. In full from Malaysiakini. What was the 'flying pig moment' ? The fact that the police stopped this UMNO demonstration against an opposition stalwart. Rarely happens. Most of the time the opposition is on the recieving end. Like in the case of Bersih and Hindraf.

Normally the opposition gets water canons, tear gas and baton charges, is this a new beginning? Anyway, I am a bit disappointed, that the unemployed dentist did not at least get a dose of tear gas and couple of baton strikes on his botoxed head, oops face. Remember the 1,000 gathering of Khairy aka Son In Law, where Utusan hyped up the UMNO demo numbers to 5,000. Sadly the Police did not react to the hate speech by him. Here is a take, Umno deputy Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin had asked his followers, referring to Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, “In the old days, what did we do to those who commit treason?” The crowd replied, “Kill him!” Khairy then said they should only ask for Nizar “to be banished”.

We know that the ex MB was trying to outdo KJ, the police being the spoil sports, stopped him. The unemployed dentist forgets that KJ is the SIL of the PM. Read the whole piece about KJ's antics here from the Malaysian Insider. Anyway, the truth be told, I would have been tickled pink, at least to black if the Police had used a bit of tear gas, batons and water canons on these stalwarts of UMNO. People we must not forget that these UMNO chaps are vying to become UMNO Youth's Goon-in-Chief. Let us see what antics Mukhriz will carry out, maybe something under the protection our once Great Leader, drum rolllllll, rolling....Daddy .

The Umno general assembly will be held from March 24 to 28 - Malaysiakini. They must show how extreme, intolerant and thuggish they must be, to qualify for the position of Goon-In-Chief in UMNO Youth. They want to take over from the guy with the sand paperish voice also known as Kerismuddin. This is another guy who rode on the coattails of his Daddy and Grand Pa. The people are comparing the behaviour of the PR and BN representatives. Guess what? Most of the BN wallahs cannot hold a candle next to ousted Perak Menteri Besar Nizar Jamaluddin. He is articulate, moves from Bahasa to English with ease. Has class and he does not need goons to support him. Read what Perak has achieved under his leadership in a few, short, ten months.

A Forgotten Iban Warrior, Lance Corporal Ungkok ak Jugam
Friday, February 13, 2009
This post and material was from Lt Col (Rtd) Robert Rizal PGB-edit. The Iban Trackers and Sarawak Rangers served with distinction during the First Emergency in Malaya, alongside the Commonwealth Forces. In that 12 years of fighting the insurgency war, their casualties were exceptionally low – only 20 killed-in-actions and 25 wounded. Their uncanny tracking skill and prowess in the battlefield had earned them worldwide recognition. The qualities and numbers of bravery awards they received from the British Government spoke for them. They died fighting for a cause - helping the Commonwealth Forces fight the communist terrorists to prevent Malaya from falling into their hands from 1948 to 1960. They served with distinction and displayed their uncanny tracking skill and unparalleled courage. They were acknowledged by Sir Gerald Templer as the world's best. Between them, they earned numerous bravery awards and medals, including the highest ever given to a civilian. Tracker Awang ak Rawang was awarded the George Cross, an equivalent of a Victoria Cross, for saving a British soldier in the face of enemy fire.

Their graves are scattered all over Malaya, including two in Singapore.

The location of Lance Corporal Ungkok ak Jugam's graveyard in Alor Setar is a real shocker. He was killed in action on February 13, 1955. Overtaken by development and worsened by the unconcerned and uncaring attitude of the authorities, the graveyard was seemingly reduced to becoming a "milestone".

The grave stone of LCpl Ungkok ak. Jugam at Km 4, Jalan Langgar, Alor Setar, Kedah

My heart bleeds when I saw the picture in a blog. As an ex-Ranger officer myself, I felt it was something I have to put right. I vowed to take the matter up to the highest authority. It became my mission. On November 12, 2008, I sent a letter to the Director of Veterans Affairs in KL requesting they should look at LCpl Ungkok's grave with the intention of relocating it to a more respectable location. The British Army was unable to move the grave as they couldn’t locate the next-of-kin (NOK), a procedure which was a must, otherwise the grave couldn’t be moved. So, Ungkok’s grave remained as it was.

Development somehow, has rendered the grave into becoming such a pitiful sight – by the shoulder of a highway. I was surprised that the Veterans Department (JHEV) wasn’t aware of this grave. Anyway, they soon started to move their machinery to locate the NOK.

Follow-Up Actions/Chronology of Events

November 18, 2008: A Staff Officer from Jabatan Hal Ehwal Veterans ATM (JHEV) called me this morning to say that they have received my letter. They were thankful and was surprised to see the grave by the roadside. They didn't know anything about it and nobody had talked about it either. They will try to locate the next-of-kin and meantime find out about relocating the grave to Taiping or Batu Gajah.

Let's hope it wouldn't take them ages to relocate the grave

December 2, 2008: Apparently, the location of LCpl Ungkok ak. Jugam's grave was raised by the Malaysian Historical Society (Persatuan Sejarah Malaysia), Kedah Branch on April 17, 2006. In reply, the Malaysian Ex-Services Association (Persatuan Bekas Tentera Malaysia), Sarawak Branch gave the name of his nearest NOK to Persatuan Sejarah Malaysia, Kedah Branch. As I do not have access to correspondences thereon, I do not know what transpired between the two organisations and whether there was any plan to relocate the grave elsewhere.

Anyway, two years had gone by and the grave is still where it was - there had been no actions by either organisations. Today, I called the Staff Officer of Jabatan Hal Ehwal Veteran ATM on the outcome of the letter I sent them earlier on. She told me they have located the nearest NOK, (the same name given to the Historical Society Kedah Branch two years ago. She is from Ng Jela, Lubok Antu, Sri Aman). They have instructed Pengarah JHEV ATM Sarawak Branch to contact the NOK and inform her of the situation and seek her consent to relocate the grave to a more respectable location. I had suggested Batu Gajah or Taiping, where his comrades were laid to rest. LCpl Ungkok died a bachelor.

January 6, 2009

I called on a JHEV staff to find out on the progress of trying to relocate the grave of LCpl Ungkok ak. Jugam. The attempt to trace his NOK has hit a snag. The NOK identified by the Ex-Services Association of Sarawak could not be found. I asked them what happen if no NOK is found? They said they will seek the advice of the Kedah State government on the next course of action and the legal implications involved. So, it looks like LCpl Ungkok's case will have to wait a while.

February 3, 2009

I received an email from the Secretary General of Sarawak Dayak Iban Association (SADIA) sympathising and expressing their shock at seeing the graveyard of LCpl Ungkok ak. Jugam by the highway in Kedah It is a most welcomed email from a NGO. With the involvement of SADIA, I hope to strengthen my effort to relocate Ungkok's grave. SADIA can apply more pressure on the Sarawak Government, JHEV and PBTM to take a more positive and urgent approach in solving and handling the case. I hope to hear more from SADIA - hopefully.

February 5, 2009

I received the good news today from Major Monday Juhid of Jabatan Hal Ehwal Veteran Sarawak Branch that he has obtained the consent letter from the NOK of LCpl Ungkok ak Jugam (Puan Irene). The letter has been forwarded to Headquarters JHEV in KL for further action. I immediately called Major Suhaila, a staff officer in Hq JHEV responsible for the case and told her that I would like to be around when they exhume the grave. She concurred.

I'm so glad the case is solved. The next course of actions will be purely procedural and administrative. I felt a load off my shoulder. Thank you Major Monday and Major Suhaila for helping out. LCpl Ungkok's soul will finally find a respectable resting place where he could rest in peace. Highlighted in Lt Col (Rtd) Robert Rizal's blog

'Barisan is like the Star Wars imperial stormtroopers...........
'Barisan is like the Star Wars Imperial Stormtroopers. Self-assured, arrogant, mechanical, precise, deadly shots. Pakatan is like the rebels forces. Individualistic, idealistic, noisy, catapult shooters. In the last battle, the rebels won. They won the prime chunk of the Empire. They won because the Galactic federation supported them against the greedy hoards that were the Seth Emperors, Klingon Napoleons, Jedi Knights turned Darth Vaders and Stormtroopers of Barisan.

But somehow over the last few months you get the nervy feeling that the rebels seem to have gotten droopy. They used the wrong strategy of trying to capitalize on their win at the polls by trying to build momentum by just announcing that crossovers would be imminent when they knew that Barisan will use all its resources to thwart any such attempt. Then they let a ninja get near enough to try and poison their chief.

Then one of their motley regiments started talking about hudud laws and Islamic state which they knew would cause a reaction from another regiment which they knew again would be used by Barisan as propaganda fodder to say that Pakatan was just a marriage of convenience. Meanwhile the process of getting organized to run the states they had won was also quite messy. Horse trading by race comes to mind.

After all that, they proceeded to dig in, fighting internal fires caused by the public services sector they ran, some of whose members stubbornly ignoring that the public services sector is to serve the public, not the party whose politicians might have appointed them. While all this was going on in the background, the rebels unearthed a lot of misappropriations and evil deeds against the galactic federation people, done by the previous Barisan administration, namely the Death Star Empire.

In the midst of trying to run their states better and to serve their rakyat more honestly, they found that Barisan had cut off the flow of funds to them. This again was happening during a challenging time of economic downturn, business close-downs and job shrinkages. And now after all that, they have to show that they don't even know how to manage their own reps.

When your reps are hauled up for corruption, you know they will grasp any lifeline. Barisan is purveyor extraordinaire in this department of providing lifelines. Even the judiciary system can be inspired to joget out a four month trial suspension, for all the sandiwara of being hauled to their court. And when a clerk turns assemblywoman gets short shrifted, what are the coordinates of her impending trajectory? A question, apparently, no one in the entire rebel federation even took the trouble to think out.

And that's why the empire that is Barisan had time to say everything was according to the book in their takeover of the State Assembly. But did the rebels ask whether everything was according to the book BEFORE reaching that stage? No. You know what's the trap? The trap is for the rebel forces to look like a motley trade union against a pin-striped management. See who owns the main media. See what is in the main media. Photos of tossing the yee-sang. See who owns the judiciary and the police. Is there really independence, justice, and 'according to the book'?

Man, an entire state has been stolen right before your eyes.

Where's the will of the rakyat in Perak, the voice of the Galactic Federation that was shown in KT?

Where?

You said before that Umno was ruthless. Next month you will see how ruthless they will be. After that, even more. They will bring out their new Death Stars. They are desperate because they have more to lose. Like RM170 Billion a year of national budget that they can use to play against the federation.

What are you going to do about it? When are the rebel forces going to wake up that they must stay united, they must stay focused, they must see the big picture, they must never fall asleep, they must not be naive, they must be even stronger, sharper and better than the imperial stormtroopers of the Seth Emperors, the Klingon Napoleons, the Darth Vaders.' The ever insightful Neil in Jeff Ooi's blog.

Drafting Guys over 60 - New Direction for any war: Send Service Vets over 60!
Thursday, February 12, 2009
This makes a lot of sense to me. It is funny & obviously written by a Former Soldier-edit

I am over 60 and the Armed Forces thinks I'm too old to track down terrorists. You can't be older than 42 to join the military. They've got the whole thing arse about face. Instead of sending 18-year olds off to fight, they ought to take us old guys. You shouldn't be able to join a military unit until you're at least 35.

For starters: Researchers say 18-year-olds think about sex every 10 seconds. Old guys only think about sex a couple of times a day, leaving us more than 28,000 additional seconds per day to concentrate on the enemy.

Young guys haven't lived long enough to be cranky, and a cranky soldier is a dangerous soldier. 'My back hurts! I can't sleep, I'm tired and hungry' We are impatient and maybe letting us kill some asshole that desperately deserves it will make us feel better and shut us up for a while.

An 18-year-old doesn't even like to get up before 10 a.m. Old guys always get up early to pee so what the hell. Besides, like I said, 'I'm tired and can't sleep and since I'm already up, I may as well be up killing some fanatical bastards. If captured we couldn't spill the beans because we'd forget where we put them. In fact, name, rank, and serial number would be a real brainteaser.

Basic camp would be easier for old guys. We're used to getting screamed and yelled at and we're used to soft food. We've also developed an appreciation for guns. We've been using them for years as an excuse to get out of the house, away from the screaming and yelling.

They could lighten up on the obstacle course however. I've been in combat and didn't see a single 20-foot wall with rope hanging over the side, nor did I ever do any pushups after completing basic training. Actually, the running part is kind of a waste of energy, too. I've never seen anyone outrun a bullet. An 18-year-old has the whole world ahead of him. He's still learning to shave, to start up a conversation with a pretty girl. He still hasn't figured out that a baseball cap has a brim to shade his eyes, not the back of his head.

These are all great reasons to keep our kids at home to learn a little more about life before sending them off into harm's way. Let us old guys track down those dirty rotten coward terrorists. The last thing an enemy would want to see is a couple of million pissed off old farts with attitudes and automatic weapons who know that their best years are already behind them.

Muslim seeking to convert: I'm Jewish in spirit
Nizar Mahameed, a 30-year-old Haifa resident, arrived at the rabbinical court in the city several months ago and asked to convert to Judaism. He presented to the rabbis with all the documents required to start the process, and was referred to a rabbi to begin conversion lessons. But the road from being Nizar Mahameed, the son of a prominent Arab Muslim family from Umm al-Fahm, to becoming Nati Peretz, a Shabbat and kashrut observing Jew, was not an easy one.

Nati (Nizar) was born in Haifa's downtown to the Mahameed clan, which numbers some 6,000 members. The family has produced some of Israel's most well-known Arab leaders, including former Hadash Knesset Member Hashem Mahameed. But according to Nati, he never felt like he belonged to the environment which he grew up in. "All my friends are Jewish, I live in a Jewish neighborhood, and I don't feel any relation to the Arab sector or to Islam," he explained. "I celebrate the Jewish holidays and not the Muslim ones. I didn't fast on the Ramadan but I did fast on Yom Kippur. I built a sukkah on Sukkot and lit a menorah on Hanukkah. Continued here....

A mockery of our democratic institution
Wednesday, February 11, 2009
This is a good piece by Hannah Yeoh, a young and intelligent ADUN just back from the USA where she was one of two Malaysians picked by the US Embassy to attend Obama's inauguration. Her thoughts on the Anwar-Najib defection comparisons re Perak Crisis is sharp and most relevant. Malaysia needs more young, intelligent leaders like her-edit

To those who argue that the political crisis in Perak now is a taste of Pakatan's own medicine (referring to the Sept 16 takeover plan), they have failed to see the key differences between the two. If you remember what happened when Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim claimed to have the numbers to form the new federal government, he wrote to PM Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi requesting him to convene an emergency sitting of Parliament. This was rejected by the PM.

The next constitutional option is to press for the dissolution of Parliament to make way for fresh new elections. That was also not entertained. Anwar Ibrahim exhausted the constitutional means that were available to him. If Pakatan were to act unconstitutionally and lure defections, then we will be having a new government today. But we didn't and we will not act unconstitutionally. So you can't say that Najib's coup and Pakatan's plan were one and the same. Continue to Hannah Yeoh's blog....

Valentine's Day originated from India !
In spite of what you have been told by everyone, the truth is that Valentine's Day originated hundreds of years ago, in India, and to top it all, in the state of Gujarat !!! It is a well known fact that Gujarati men, specially the Patels, continually mistreat and disrespect their wives (Patelianis). One fine day, it happened to be the 14th day of February, one brave Patelani, having had enough "torture" by her husband, finally chose to rebel by beating him up with a Velan (rolling pin to make chapattis). Yes....the same Velan which she used daily, to make chapattis for him.... only this time, instead of the dough, it was the husband who was flattened.

This was a momentous occasion for all Gujarati women and a revolt soon spread, like wild fire, with thousands of housewives beating up their husbands with the Velan. There was an outburst of moaning "chapatti-ed" husbands all over Anand and Amdavad. The Patel men-folk quickly learnt their lesson and started to behave more respectfully with their Patelanis.

Thereafter, on 14th February every year, the womenfolk of Gujarat would beat up their husbands, to commemorate that eventful day - the wives having the satisfaction of beating up their husbands with the Velan and the men having the supreme joy of submitting to the will of the women they loved. Soon The Gujju men realised that in order to avoid this ordeal they need to present gifts to their wives....they brought flowers and sweets. This is how the tradition - Velan time - began.

As Gujarat fell under the influence of Western culture, the ritual soon spread to Britain and many other Western countries, specifically, the catch words 'Velan time' !!! In course of time, their foreign tongues, this got anglisized to 'Velantime' and then to 'Valentine'.

And thereafter, 14th of February, came to be known as Valentine's Day and now you know the true story of Valentine's day.

We are all "shoe throwers" now
Tuesday, February 10, 2009
Since I am on the subject of shoe throwing, ever wondered what ever happened to Muntazer al-Zaidi, the Iraqi journalist who hurled his footwear at George Bush ? He was dubbed a "hero with a lion’s heart" for his "double shoe attack" and missing, whereupon he was bestowed bravery awards and....... Arab men fell all over themselves offering their daughters virginity (marriage) to him. And now he faces up to 15 years in prison.

BAGHDAD (AP) — The journalist who threw his shoes at former U.S. President George W. Bush will face trial on February 19 for assaulting a visiting head of state, with a maximum 15-year prison term, a court official said on Sunday. Muntazer al-Zaidi's defense lawyers lost an appeal to have the charges against him reduced to a lesser offence of insulting Bush, rather than assaulting him.

"The Iraqi appeals court has rejected the appeal submitted by Muntader al-Zaidi's defense lawyer to change the charges, and decided to set February 19 as the date for trial," said Iraqi judiciary council spokesman Abdul-Sattar al-Birqdar. Al-Zaidi has been held in jail in Baghdad since hurling both shoes at Bush at a December 14 news conference during the then president's final visit to Iraq. Bush ducked the flying shoes while the journalist called him a "dog."

The act, captured on television, made al-Zaidi a hero in much of the Arab world. In one tribute, an artist built a giant statue of a shoe, which was eventually dismantled, in ousted dictator Saddam Hussein's hometown Tikrit. Iraqi law has a statute forbidding aggression against visiting leaders. Al-Zaidi's lawyers have argued that throwing a shoe could not be considered aggression because it could not cause actual harm, and was therefore only an insult.

Well 15 years is a long time for this "Lion Heart", I will call him a 'dick head' for his momentary insanity and fame. He never thought it through, he did not plan his escape at all. In 15 years he will be forgotten, as new shoe throwers will arise and overtake his fame, maybe they will not miss, he will just become a number, one who missed. Arab mentality never ceases to amaze me. I wonder what would the length of imprisonment here in Malaysia be, for a 'double shoe attack" and missing? More...

Gaza: Hamas hunting Fatah loyalists who "collaborated with Israel"
Human rights researchers say Islamist group killed at least six Fatah men it claims assisted in killing of senior Hamas figures during recent war. 'Hamas turned on their own people,' a relative of a Fatah loyalist in hiding says.

(Ynet) While the IDF's offensive in Gaza ended a few weeks ago, Palestinian infighting in the coastal enclave is raging on, as Hamas security forces are seeking out Fatah loyalists who the Islamist group accuses of collaborating with Israel during Operation Cast Lead.

Human rights researchers told Ynet that at least six Fatah loyalists have been killed and several others have been detained since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect as part of the Islamist group's efforts to reinforce its rule over Gaza. Many other Fatah men have gone into hiding, they said.

This is what happens when you come in through the back door, sodomising the Perakians
Sunday, February 08, 2009
For those of you who do not know where those enraged Pakatan supporters got this poster from. Let me explain, these posters have been hung around in most parts of Ipoh, announcing the Chinese New Year bash to be held at the Yuk Choy School. In the poster it says "bersama TPM" or something to that effect. Boy, were the people disappointed for the DPM did not turn up.

So these posters were easily made available. The enterprising ones had to just tear them down to release their pent up rage. Guess MCA ordered these posters to suck up to UMNO and the irony is, it was for a Chinese New Year bash. They should have just used the Ox. Very much safer.

Guess he got cold feet, naah more like chicken. What a waste of money, with all the hard work and preparation done for that bash to honour him! I guess he was worried that people might have accumulated old shoes to emulate Muntazer al-Zaidi, the Iraqi journalist who hurled his footwear at George Bush. Dear George has good reflexes, being a Guard's pilot and all. George Bush ducked nonchalantly, can you imagine Najib doing so, they would smack into his slow lumbering hulk. It is the current trend in the world, Najib knew that, it is the fad now. The joy of this activity is that anyone can do it – you don't need specialist equipment or clandestine training. If someone is annoying you, simply remove your shoe and hurl it at them.

I have to admit that George Bush reacted quite coolly to his shoeing in Iraq. He, of course, earned the rare distinction of a double shoe attack, the highest insult in the shoe-chucking world. Last week, however, the Chinese premier only warranted a single shoe attack – which was a bit insulting, as it was a trainer, a soft shoe, unlike the ones Bush ducked. Chucking a trainer is the equivalent of shooting someone with blanks. As in Najib's case, it would not be a 'double shoe' attack similar to Bush's nor the 'blank' fired at the Chinese PM, it would be a "barrage" of Ipoh shoes that would greet him, he knew that, that is why he stayed away. Do not listen to others who must spin it otherwise.

Elizabeth Wong has better take than me on that, she say's "Guess who was too chicken to turn up at Yuk Choy School, Ipoh tonight? Why so scared? Only shoes mah… And didn’t you say you had the majority? Gerakan and MCA are giving legitimacy to the new MB by hosting the event. They have just scored their own goal. Yes, they are running dogs.

Pakistani Taliban turn honeymoon spot into slaughterhouse
Those living "un-Islamic" lives are killed and dumped on the road.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — The Pakistani Taliban dumped the 27 bodies at a crossroads in the district capital of Swat, all of people whom the militant Islamists accused of having led "un-Islamic" lives. Around the body of a dancer, the killers threw banknotes and DVD recordings of her performances.

A charismatic preacher called Mullah Fazlullah leads the militants and broadcasts his strictures daily over his radio station. Women aren't allowed to go shopping. The Taliban run their own system of justice, with their own courts, and carry out public whippings and other punishments. They execute open critics, denying them even court hearings.

This week, the Swat Taliban issued a list of 47 people whom they ordered to appear before their "court" or face unstated consequences.

UN: Hamas uses children as human shields
If this is not a flying pig moment, I don't know what is.

(JPost) The United Nations is ready to address Hamas's use of children as human shields during last month's IDF offensive in Gaza, the UN special representative for children and armed conflict told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday.

"We have not yet dealt directly with the human shield issue, but we will now mention it in our reports," Radhika Coomaraswamy said in an exclusive interview following a four-day visit to the region.

"It is still very difficult for us to say that it was actually happening and we still need to conduct a full investigation into what exactly took place... but we are not denying that it happened; it is absolutely possible that Hamas was using its civilians as human shields," she said.

Arrest Michael Phelps Now! By Doug Bandow
Saturday, February 07, 2009
Michael Phelps, the aquatic icon who won eight gold medals at the 2008 Olympics, has violated the law. When a photograph of him smoking a bongful of marijuana was published, he admitted the crime. The same crime for which the better part of a million people were arrested last year.

Shouldn’t Phelps be charged? Along with President Obama and his two predecessors, all of whom, it seems, used illegal drugs? If not, perhaps it is time to have a serious debate about the drug laws.

Of course, Michael Phelps immediately apologized for his poor judgment. Attention turned to his sponsors, since their contracts include the usual moral clauses, which protect their investment in celebrities who behave foolishly, if not actually immorally. Happily for Phelps’s bank account, some of his big-money backers, including Speedo, Hilton, and Omega, accepted his apology. Subway and Visa haven’t been talking, but don’t look like they are going to jump. Kellogg’s, so far in the minority, announced it would drop Phelps. Continued here....

Obama Drops All Charges Against USS Cole Bombing Mastermind
17 US sailors were killed in that terrorist act.Yes, exactly the "change we can believe in."

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon's senior judge overseeing terror trials at Guantanamo Bay dropped charges Thursday against an al-Qaida suspect in the 2000 USS Cole bombing, upholding President Barack Obama's order to freeze military tribunals there.

The charges against suspected al-Qaida bomber Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri marked the last active Guantanamo war crimes case. The legal move by Susan J. Crawford, the top legal authority for military trials at Guantanamo, brings all cases into compliance with Obama's Jan. 22 executive order to halt terrorist court proceedings at the U.S. Navy base in Cuba. More...

At the same time, he forgot to take into consideration that 23 al-Qaeda terrorists, including those involved in the USS Cole bombing, escaped from the maximum security prison in Yemen.

(Independent) A major international hunt is under way for 23 al-Qa'ida activists who escaped from their prison in Yemen by digging a 460ft tunnel to emerge in the woman's section of a mosque.

Interpol has issued a global security alert warning that the escapers - including men who had carried out attacks on the American warship USS Cole and the French oil tanker Limburg - were a "clear and present danger to all countries".

The jailbreak was seen as a significant propaganda coup for Islamist groups and a severe blow to Yemen's attempts to portray itself as a strong ally of the West in the "war on terror".

Guards at the high-security prison, which also served as the military intelligence headquarters, were being questioned by police. There is widespread suspicion that the audacious escape could not have succeeded without the help of officials in Yemen, the country Osama bin Laden's family came from. The Plan!
I got this via e-mail-edit.

Robin Williams, wearing a shirt that says 'I love New York ' in Arabic.

You gotta love Robin Williams......Even if he's nuts! Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan. What we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.

Robin Williams' plan...(Hard to argue with this logic!)

'I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan.'

1) 'The US will apologize to the world for our 'interference' in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those 'good 'ole' boys', we will never 'interfere' again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany , South Korea , the Middle East , and the Philippines . They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers. Continued here.....

She has been achieving her goals by hook or by crook by TAY TIAN YAN, Sin Chew Daily
Friday, February 06, 2009
I got this in my Haloscan comment box in one of the threads. It would be a waste not to post this-edit.

She has been achieving her goals by hook or by crook, even if she has to harm others. She ranks herself as the top priority. Eventually, she has taken a cruel act: To betray the world rather than being betrayed.

This is one of the characters of Cao Cao, which is also the cruellest part of him. No wonder ancient scholars warned that one should not read the Three Kingdom at young age to avoid being influenced by the bad guy.

She has been achieving her goals by hook or by crook, even if she has to harm others. She ranks herself as the top priority. To her, she is more important than any other people, value, ethic and integrity. It could be for power, money or simply a revenge. She is disloyal and merciless.

She would rather destroy it if she could not get it. Thus, she destroyed the Perak Pakatan Rakyat state government.

She could disappoint all but she would not allow anyone to disappoint her.

She has been asking for a State Exco position from the very beginning. But she is not qualified in terms of educational background and capability. The state government is not a circus and no clown could be the manager.

However, she was appointed as the deputy speaker, they hoped that this could appease her. But to her, the position is powerless.

She tried every means making troubles from time to time to attract attention. "It would be fine to be the state assemblyperson at anywhere."

She did not take her duties as a people's representative seriously. She played the people as fools. When the whole country was looking for her, she said she was sick and her mobile phone was turned off.

She pretended to be pitiable – "I have joined DAP for over 20 years, it is really hard to leave the party and I have never thought to switch party."

It is a con game. She showed her true self in the end.

Perhaps, she could really realise her dream of being a state exco. But she achieves it by taking the risk of public contempt.

She could never wash away her stain unless there are no longer right and wrong, morality and truth in the world. (Translated by SOONG PHUI JEE)

Unresolved hatred, terrorism—and the next war
With much fanfare, President Barack Obama announced a new effort to end the endless Israeli-Palestinian struggle—by naming a brand-new Mideast envoy, former senator George Mitchell. The announcement was underwhelming, to say the least. For 40 years, we’ve seen such serial envoys, communiqués, and peace conferences—and the little that followed from them.

Can anyone distinguish Annapolis, Beirut, Camp David, Geneva, Madrid, Oslo, Taba, or Wye River—and all the other places that hosted much-heralded but failed meetings that we can no longer even recall? Then there are the billions of dollars (well over $100 billion) and euros for peace given by the United States and Europe to Egypt, Israel, Jordan, and the Palestinians over the last half-century. Not to mention all those ballyhooed United Nations decrees—Resolutions 242, 338, 1397, 1515, and others—likewise lost to our collective memory.

The Israeli withdrawal from the Sinai nearly 30 years ago was supposed to have led to a general peace. So was the withdrawal from Lebanon. So was the withdrawal from Gaza.

We also used to hear that the Israeli-Palestinian struggle was “really” about Egypt’s ruler Gamal Nasser (1956–1970) and his pan-Arabic movement. Then it was really about the Cold War and the Soviet Union. Then it was really about Saddam Hussein and Iraq. Now it is really about Iran. Continued here....

It simply does not make sense for us to support a Palestinian state By Michael Yon
There had been a light, cold drizzle just before the Muslim taxi driver picked me up in Jerusalem. It should be a 90-minute drive to Sderot, in southern Israel. Along the wet highway, I asked the driver to stop at a small town so that I could buy a juice, and inside the Muslim store a television was turned to news in English, showing success of the most recent Iraqi elections.

In the past, candidates often hid their faces, but this time photos were posted all over the walls and buildings. A fundamental change has occurred. A wave of satisfaction filled me, but also sorrow for the many losses we and the Iraqis suffered. Was it all worth it? This cannot be answered with mere logic, but I suspect that it will be worth it, though only if we continue to progress and stay engaged with the Iraqi people, and government.

The Israeli taxi arrived at Sderot just before noon. Thousands of terrorist rockets have rained on Israeli towns within range of Hamas-ruled Gaza, as the world mostly ignored the thunder. Those who knew about the attacks seemed to dismiss the rockets as just a nuisance, like mosquitoes. Yet the rockets have grown more and more powerful, to the point where the largest these days carries about 60 times more explosives than a hand grenade. On February 1, 2009, the day of my visit, The International Herald Tribune reported:

At least two rockets and several mortars were fired into Israel on Sunday, lightly wounding two soldiers and a civilian, and Palestinian militants opened fire on an army patrol along the border, causing no injuries, the military said.

Residents said that one of the rockets landed near a kindergarten in an Israeli village east of Gaza but failed to explode. Continued here.........

to uplift your spirits. Hattip: Thanks to Sandee Ho. 'A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?' The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'. They went on to complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together.

One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together, to which his father said 'Yes'. For those who don't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever.. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3..86 kilometre) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the BigIsland.

Father and son went on to complete the race together. This is a really touching video. It reaffirms the immeasurable love parents have for their children

Hamas steals aid, the UN actually notices
The thugs of Hamas have been stealing food and blankets and other aid meant for needy Palestinians for a long time, and it’s finally gotten so obvious that not even the United Nations can keep quiet about it any more.

JERUSALEM – A U.N. spokesman says Hamas police in Gaza have seized thousands of blankets and food parcels meant for needy residents. Spokesman Christopher Gunness says Hamas police raided a U.N. warehouse in Gaza City on Tuesday evening. He says police snatched 3,500 blankets and more than 400 food parcels. The aid is vital now because Gazans are facing hardship after Israel’s three-week military offensive against Hamas.

Meanwhile, after screeching to the heavens that Israel committed war crimes and deliberately targeted that school in Gaza, the UN now says, “Ooops mistaken.”

The United Nations has retracted a claim that an Israeli strike which killed more than 40 people in northern Gaza city of Jabaliya last month hit a school run by a UN agency. “The humanitarian coordinator would like to clarify that the shelling, and all of the fatalities, took place outside rather than inside the school,” the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs said in its latest weekly update on the situation in Gaza.

What about all those photographs showing pools of blood and bodies inside the school? Can anyone say, play acting?”

Remember the four frogs that fooled all - Frogs? Whores they should be !
Extracted from the Malaysian Insider with some minor editting. The DAP assembly woman from Jelapang is the worst of the 4 whores ! Lim Kit Siang, Karpal Singh or Lim Guan Eng are much senior than her; they could have fetched huge sums of money if they choose to defect but they stayed true to their principles. They have tasted the ultimate bitterness in Kamunting. They stayed with DAP through thick and thin and built the party with much sweat, toil and sufferings to where it is today so that a polio victim like Hee Yit Foong can win the election in Jelapang and become the only woman ever to hold a deputy speaker's post in Perak!

But what does she repay to the rakyat who voted her in and the party that took her in and nurtured her? She repays them with treachery and abandoning the rakyat who voted for her just because she cannot get along with her party members and her greed for personal riches! Not only did she abandon her party and rakyat, she joined the very organisation which discriminates and called her, her parents and her children despicable names of "pendatangs". I could have understood it if the 3 PKR assemblymen defect to BN as they all come from the same corrupt mould which is UMNO!

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 4 Whatever the outcome of the political imbroglio in Perak, Malaysians should remember the names of Datuk Nasharudin Hashim, Mohd Osman Jailu, Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi and Hee Yit Foong forever. They represent the worst species of politicians self-serving; greedy; unprincipled; cowardly and dishonest.

How else would you describe politicians who go begging for votes wrapped in the colours of their political party, who rattle off reasons why Umno, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and DAP deserve to win, only to repudiate everything they told the voters less than 12 months later? Continued here...
