The assailants, described by reports as being of North African descent and therefore likely Muslim immigrants, approached the Jewish students from two directions in the library, pouncing on them and beating them until they were bloody.

The Islamic State of Iraq in the Levant (ISIL) is a splinter group of al-Qaeda that wants to set up an Islamic caliphate encompassing both Iraq and Syria. ISIL is viewed as a terror organisation by authorities both here and abroad.

A Malaysian suspected of being a member of ISIL was believed to have been the suicide bomber who killed 25 members of an Iraqi police team last month.

The militants are going door to door as they inquire about married and unmarried women in the houses, The Independent reports.  "I told them that there were only two women in the house and both were married. They said that many of their mujahedin [fighters] were unmarried and wanted a wife.

They insisted on coming into my house to look at the women's ID cards [which in Iraq show marital status]," Abu Lahid said. The militants are terrorising not just the unmarried women but even those who were already married. She was pelted with stones, punched in the face and dragged through the streets. The local Imam finally intervened only to say, ‘If you don’t want to die, you must convert to Islam.’ The crowd descended on her again beating her with sticks.”

This is how NYT approaches anything to do with mass immigration: they do the same thing with the hordes of Mexican and Central American border-crossers.  Just give them chance--they will be superb citizens.  If statistics do not agree with their assumptions, and they don’t, then carry on about “structural racism” and so on.  Here they switch to “Islamophobia” and blame the xenophobic Brits.

"Seventeen people, all of them from the (Muslim) Fulani minority, were killed on Monday by young gunmen claiming to be from the (mostly Christian) anti-balaka" militia near the town of Bambari, an officer from the African Union force told AFP on condition of anonymity.

"Some of the bodies were mutilated and burnt by the assailants," he said, adding that the killings sparked reprisal attacks in the town by the mostly Muslim Seleka ex-rebel force.

That was the stark message Christians in the Syrian city of Raqqa received last year when ultra-fundamentalist Sunni extremists, proclaiming themselves to be members of ISIS, seized power and launched a reign of terror against Shiites and Christians that has included beheadings and at least three crucifixions.

Aware of ISIS's ferocious reputation for murder and mayhem, thousands of Christians who lived in Mosul and the surrounding Nineveh Plain fled in panic when ISIS rebels captured Iraq's second largest city from government forces on June 10. Many of those who escaped have sought refuge in this Christian enclave in the Kurdish city of Irbil, only an hour's drive away from Mosul.

“All who are left there now are a few handicapped or sickly Christians,” said a Chaldean Catholic nun wearing a blue habit whose religious community fled Mosul on foot, walking north for four hours on June 10 along with thousands of other Christian and Muslim refugees. They all feared persecution at the hands of the insurgents, who follow a harsh seventh-century interpretation of the Qur'an that demands not only that women mostly stay indoors, but that church bells must never be rung, crosses must never be displayed and Christians must pay a “gold tax” in return for their lives.

The nun pleaded repeatedly that her name and her order not be disclosed, lest the rebels read her comments on the Internet. “They've taken down every monument in Mosul, whether they depict Iraqi political figures or Catholics,” she said in impeccable French that she polished up on during a year studying in Montreal...

"...But by far the worst error has been the state's addiction to immigration and multiculturalism. Domestic jihadism is the direct creation of a political class obsessed with open borders and the transformation of our society's structure. Thanks to these two strategies, the Muslim population of Britain has now reached almost three million, while one in 10 British children under the age of four is Muslim.

The pro-immigration brigade tells us that this is no problem, since the "vast majority" of Muslims are moderate. But that is more self-deceit at odds with the evidence. One independent survey showed that 40 per cent of Muslims here want to live under Sharia law; another revealed that 32 per cent of Muslim students at university felt killing in the name of religion is justified.

A recent study found that, out of Britain's 1,700 mosques, just two follow a modernist interpretation of the Koran, while a quarter do not even allow women on the premises.

Curiously, some recent victims in these murders have been Muslim sheiks that were associated with al Shabaab, the jihadist group that took credit for the deadly Westgate attack. Even more curiously, all of the high-profile sheik murders have taken place in the same area in Mombasa, Kenya's second largest city.

Her profession of Christianity makes her an apostate, and under Islamic law apostasy is punishable by death.

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria – Islamic extremists have abducted 60 more girls and women and 31 boys from villages in northeast Nigeria, witnesses said Tuesday. Security forces denied the kidnappings.

Nigeria’s government and military have been widely criticized for their slow response to the abductions of more than 200 schoolgirls kidnapped April 15. There was no way to safely and independently confirm the report from Kummabza, 150 kilometres (95 miles) from Maiduguri, capital of Borno state and headquarters of a military state of emergency that has failed to curtail near-daily attacks by Boko Haram fighters.

Kummabza resident Aji Khalil said Tuesday the abductions took place Saturday in an attack in which four villagers were killed. Khalil is a member of one of the vigilante groups that have had some success in repelling Boko Haram attacks with primitive weapons.

Christians in Raqqa, Syria, under the occupation of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, which has since consolidated more territory), were given the three classic choices of Islam: 1) convert to Islam or 2) pay jizya (tribute or extortion money, via Koran 9:29) and uphold every condition stipulated in the medieval Conditions of Omar—which include heavy restrictions on Christian worship—or 3) the sword.

According to the BBC, ISIL issued a directive:

citing the Islamic concept of “dhimma”, [which] requires Christians in the city to pay tax of around half an ounce (14g) of pure gold in exchange for their safety. It says Christians must not make renovations to churches, display crosses or other religious symbols outside churches, ring church bells or pray in public.  Christians must not carry arms, and must follow other rules imposed by ISIS (also known as ISIL) on their daily lives.  The statement said the group had met Christian representatives and offered them three choices—they could convert to Islam, accept ISIS’ conditions, or reject their control and risk being killed.  “If they reject, they are subject to being legitimate targets, and nothing will remain between them and ISIS other than the sword,” the statement said.

And a PEW study confirmed that Christians are the most persecuted religious group in the world and that their persecution is occurring primarily throughout the Islamic world.  In the category on “Countries with Very High Government Restrictions on Religion,” Pew lists 24 countries—20 of which are Islamic and precisely where the overwhelming majority of “the world’s” Christians are actually being persecuted.

The capture by jihadists the month before of two Sunni cities in western Iraq was just the beginning, he said.

There would soon be a major onslaught on Sunni territories. ISIS, a renegade offshoot of al-Qaeda, was about to take its well-known cooperation with leftovers of the regime of Saddam Hussein, and his former deputy Izzat al-Douri, to a new level.

Accused terrorist conspirator Misbahuddin Ahmed said Monday that he persuaded an alleged accomplice to destroy bomb-making material but was unable to recall exactly when and how he managed to do so. The case against Ahmed is based largely on conversations secretly recorded by the RCMP at the Ottawa homes of Ahmed and his alleged co-conspirator, and from phone and computer intercepts.

But there is no clear recorded reference to support Ahmed’s claim that over the course of 10 days he successfully deterred the alleged committed and trained terrorist from building explosive triggering devices. “I pushed him to give them to me so I could destroy them,”

Ahmed told Crown prosecutor Jason Wakely. “I was forceful.” Pressed by Wakely to be specific, Ahmed said he couldn’t remember exactly when the conversation or conversations had taken place.

The story is about a man only referred to as Josef. He’s on the run from his own family members, who are seeking him with the intent to kill him for converting from Islam to Christianity. The man’s brother-in-law Ibrahim offered a New York Times reporter $20,000 to reveal his hiding place. Ibrahim said after he kills Josef, he will kill his three-year-old son as well.

Pakistanis who read the print edition of the "International New York Times" noticed a glaring hole right on the front page where a story was missing.

The Obama administration is avoiding any hard military commitment to counter Islamist fighters from turning parts of Iraq into a terrorist state. And some of its three closest European allies are pretty much saying, with considerable variation, that the administration's weakness on Syria was at the root of the problem and that it must consider any military engagement to be a U.S. task.

This is not a “harsh 7th century interpretation of the Qur’an.” This is Islamic law to this day: Sharia stipulates that dhimmi Jews and Christians under the “protection” of the Islamic state — are “forbidden to openly display wine or pork, (A: to ring church bells or display crosses,) recite the Torah or Evangel aloud, or make public display of their funerals and feastdays” (‘Umdat al-Salik, o11.5(6)).

The killer of Baruch Mizrahi, the senior Israeli police officer killed in a Passover eve terror attack near Hebron, was a Palestinian released in the prisoner exchange deal which saw Gilad Shalit freed in 2011 in return for 1,027 Palestinian prisoners, it was cleared for publication Monday.

An indictment was filed Monday against Ziad Awad, a resident of the village of Idna near Hebron, for murder and attempted murder. Awad was freed in the first tranche of the Shalit prisoner exchange deal, after he was sentenced to life in prison for murdering Palestinians who had collaborated with Israel.

At the time, because of the note that was found by the body saying “Go back to your country, you terrorist,” the crime was universally reported as being motivated by “Islamophobia,” and the work of an “Islamophobe” who hated Shaima Alawadi for wearing a hijab.

They even staged a campaign, “One Million Hijabs for Shaima Alawadi.” When it turned out to be an Islamic honor killing and Shaima’s husband was arrested for the murder, they went silent — with no retractions or apologies, of course. Stooping lowest, not surprisingly, was Islamic supremacist and current media darling Reza Aslan, who raged in this sub-literate tweet that Pamela Geller and I were responsible for the murder:

In reality, the Sudanese authorities were acting in accord with classic principles of Islamic law. Muhammad commanded:

“Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him” (Bukhari 9.84.57).

Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the most renowned and prominent Muslim cleric in the world, has stated: “The Muslim jurists are unanimous that apostates must be punished, yet they differ as to determining the kind of punishment to be inflicted upon them. The majority of them, including the four main schools of jurisprudence (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali) as well as the other four schools of jurisprudence (the four Shiite schools of Az-Zaidiyyah, Al-Ithna-’ashriyyah, Al-Ja’fariyyah, and Az-Zaheriyyah) agree that apostates must be executed.”

There is only disagreement over whether the law applies only to men, or to women also – some authorities hold that apostate women should not be killed, but only imprisoned in their houses until death. Islam is patrilinear, so Meriam Ibrahim was considered a Muslim since her father was a Muslim.

After moving to Norway in 2010, I decided to tell the stories of some of the photos I had not been able to publish before. Hejab as Weapon of War is one of these stories. The photographs were taken in different locations and at different times.

In any case, his Facebook page is still there, featuring DeTillio in Islamic garb, a photo of a rifle and a backpack, a map of Iraq proclaiming, “The Islamic state will remain,” and a group about Islamic prayer (“A worshipper of Allah should never forget supplication”).

The fighting erupted on Friday evening between the jihadist Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) and the Army of the Men of the Naqshbandiyah Order (JRTN) in Hawija, in Kirkuk province, said the sources.

Analysts have noted that while the Sunni insurgents, who are led by ISIS but also include a litany of other groups including loyalists of now-executed dictator Saddam Hussein, have formed a wide alliance, it is unclear if the broader grouping can hold together given their disparate ideologies. Now, as she stares listlessly from her hospital bed, that dream seems impossible. Zainab’s tragedy is that her family home is in northern Iraq, close to the Syrian border. Their city, Tal Afar, was over-run by militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria – ISIS – last week.

In a rocket attack on the house where she was sleeping with her parents and five siblings, Zainab suffered crushing injuries to her legs, and was hit by shrapnel. On Wednesday, she had both legs amputated. Her ten-year-old sister, Fadak, was killed, while her mother Amsha also lost both legs. Her 18-year-old brother Haider is in shock and has not spoken since the attack. Read it all here........

A new briefing paper by IDMC highlights violence and abuses perpetrated by Nigeria’s most notorious Islamist insurgent group, Boko Haram, and the scale of internal displacement provoked by its campaign of terror.

One of the four, Emir Drekovac, was separately charged with killing and mutilating with an axe at least three people in late 1992.

One reader, who has been living in the Islamic world for the past six years, seemed to disagree with my generalization of Muslims.  According to his experience, 80% of them simply “want to live in peace, raise their children, and be happy”, while the remaining 20% are radicals with their zombie followers who won’t hesitate to kill someone for the “crime” of apostasy.

In 1975, before she married Bill Clinton, Hillary Rodham defended a child rapist in Arkansas court. She was not a public defender. No one ordered her to take the case. An ambitious young lawyer, she was asked by a friend if she would represent the accused, and she agreed.

And her defense was successful. Attacking the credibility of the twelve-year-old victim on the one hand, and questioning the chain of evidence on another, Clinton got a plea bargain for her client. He served ten months in prison, and died in 1992.

The victim, now 52, has had her life irrevocably altered — for the worse. Sometime in the mid 1980s, for an Esquire profile of rising political stars, Hillary Clinton and her husband agreed to a series of interviews with the Arkansas journalist Roy Reed. Reed and Hillary Clinton discussed at some length her defense of the child rapist, and in the course of that discussion she bragged and laughed about the case, implied she had known her client was guilty, and said her “faith in polygraphs” was forever destroyed when she saw that her client had taken one and passed.

Reed’s article was never published. His tapes of the interviews were later donated to the University of Arkansas. Where they remained, gathering dust.

So many gains reversed and so many lives lost — and for what? The American lives given heroically in Iraq were not in vain, but a legacy is a terrible thing to waste — just ask Vietnam veterans.

The implications of radical Islamists’ capturing large — and significant — swaths of Iraq and threatening Baghdad are so much greater than any soldier, unit, deployment, or decision. Iraq veterans are wringing our hands over events, but we did all we could against long odds — abroad and at home.

Mehmood Notezai, the Superintendent of Police told Dawn that family members had killed the couple to punish them for love-marriage. Police reached the mud-walled house where the couple was living for past five years.

"Husband, wife and their son, all were beaten to death", Notezai said. He said the accused had used blunt weapons to kill the couple adding that, "The accused family members escaped after committing the heinous crime."

That truth -- and it has been a concern of governments for some time -- is that with Britain’s rapidly increasing Muslim population, the teaching of any culturally conservative interpretation of Islam (the bare minimum that any serious Muslim would insist on) is entirely incompatible with the secular, liberal and pluralistic values that define British society, and even perhaps incompatible with the long-term political stability of the country.

In pursuit of the multicultural dream that has dominated Western political culture since the end of the Second World War, the British political class turned a blind eye to this problem.

The ban affects only veils which cover up a student's face and hide their identity, Meisch explained. Headscarves remain allowed.

Meisch also insisted that all students have to take part in the school's official curriculum and activities, including physical education, and that they will continue to be taught in mixed-sex classes.
