He said that corruption works in such a way that it spreads little by little, enervating an organisational structure one by one - until it becomes paralysed if not immediately treated.

“Therefore, we cannot take it lightly, be complacent and choose to be in denial, conceiving all kinds of justification – performing mental acrobatics to deny the existence of the corruption ‘elephant’ that is vividly happening in front of our eyes.

“An honest assessment of corruption should be mandatory – sincere and objective – based on facts, as proof that we are truly serious in fighting and combatting even to the point of totally eliminating corruption.

“We are obligated to be bold in acknowledging the ongoing reality of corruption that has reached critical and dangerous levels, based on the repeated warnings contained in the Auditor-General’s Report and various findings by the Public Accounts Committee,” he said.

Sultan Nazrin said this at the launch of the book entitled, Korupsi dan Kemunafikan dalam Politik Melayu; Perlunya Disegerakan Transformasi Moral Etika by Mohd Kamal Hassan today. He reminded that out of 180 countries that had been evaluated by Transparency International, Malaysia fell from the 57th position, earning a score of 52 in 2020, to 62nd place with a score of 48 in 2021, and now has been grouped with two-thirds of the countries that earned a score below 50.

MAT M DIN : Corruption has turned endemic especially among the Malay elite group. It has to be eradicated to enable the country to be purified from the corrupt pollution and returned fresh and green again. 

MACC has to double down its effort to track down the evil perpetrators and parade them to jail sooner than later. They have plundered public fund and used abusively stolen money to indulge in lavish lifestyle, living in luxurious mansions paid out of stolen money, driving big cars, spending million of ringgits on precious items as if money means nothing. 

Their turns to live in comfort in great splendour are numbered and it is time for them to be ushered to prison and spend their remaining life in misery as worldly punishment, following Najib and other wrong doers.

MS : In Malaysia, there is a nice word for bribe. It is called “donation” - a noble thing which the Ketuanan Klan has made easy and rewarding. To make it legitimate and unquestionably so , the receivers simply add the adjective “political” before it. 

In extreme cases when the amount runs in the billions, they add the word “Saudi” Of course , no tax exempt receipts will be issued for such donations…which are usually made after 10pm and strictly in Singapore dollars only. And in the case of donations from the House of Saud, the donation always comes through circuitous routes. 

Like “affirmative action”, the Ketuanan code for blatant racism, political donations have become as Malaysian as nasi lemak, to be accepted without guilt.
