“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Malaysiakini : Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has apologised for not
being "present" during the critical phases of the massive floods that
have struck the state.
In a press conference this evening, the PAS
lawmaker acknowledged that no excuses can justify his absence, nor fix
the current situation. "I understand that whatever I say now, they will not mean anything.
I just want to put it on record that I was monitoring the flood
situation, and I decided to travel overseas when they were signs of the
floods receding," he said, adding that the situation only peaked days
later when he was already away.
Anak Pinang : NZ negara kafir harbi. Why didn't go to Saudi or somewhere halal? Such hypocrites. Bet the money came from state coffers or some business tycoon and this holiday was funded illegally. So much for putting people first. Useless lebai
Aisyalam : The point is you enjoyed your holidays while your rakyat was suffering the floods.
BlueCrab6133 : What a load of BS! Everyone and their brother knows that there will be flooding in Kelantan and Terengganu this time of the year. Everyone except you, it appears.
Or is it you knew but just couldn't give a hang? Personal pleasure is more important, yes?
Then, you come back and spew some crap about how your pleasure trip was unforgivable, yada, yada ,yada. You think people will swallow this excreta?
How is your pretend self-flagellation helping anyone? You are hoping that people will take some pity on you with this drama of yours, forgive and forget? Please lah, grow up!
Mariupol : If Penang Dap CM doing like this ….. major earth quake in Penisula …. All Komunis in world will shock ! If Lobai Melayo ….. It’s OK ! How long it takes to change these mindsets ?
Wakanda : Terenganu ppl....
Remember he thought under control so continued with holiday....
Even before elections... warnings of impending floods that's why even pas postponed state elections... so really this is just an excuse... REASON: holiday more important
Vijay47 : Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, like the fickle weather we are experiencing now, your tearful tale comes in two facets – the sunny and the stormy. Let me start with your glass half-full. At least you made an apology and while it is not especially acceptable, I will take it at face value.
The usual response from politicians under similar circumstances is defiant justification with more than a touch of outraged arrogance. Anyway, that’s water below the bridge.
Being the mentri besar, one would assume that you are a Terengganu local and thus can be expected to know weather patterns in the state at the end of the year; paradoxically, that there are no set weather patterns.
The monsoon would come and go as it pleases without so much as by your leave. If weather predictions were accurate, weathermen would be millionaires like certain PAS leaders.
So tell me, sir, when were your flight and hotel tickets purchased? At least six to eight weeks previously?
Thus at that point in time, how were you sure that during your crucial vacation period of 11 to 22 December, the rainy season would restrict itself to conduct amenable to your holiday programme? In the last twenty or so years, how many times were Kelantan and Terengganu spared the full onslaught of rains, storms, and floods during December?
And for heaven’s sake, why did the mentri besar of a state prone to savage water-logged times choose December for a family holiday? Perhaps you have a fondness for Christmas trees, sleigh-bells, and cheerful Ho Ho Ho’s.
Sorry, Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, you’ve been naughty and bad, so no gifts from Santa for you.
Which reminds me, I hope you conveyed our Merry Christmas wishes to Edmund Santara.
OCT : MB thinks that by just apologizing it is sufficient for Rakyat to accept and forget and forgive his mistake. MB as Head of state should know his responsibility and possess good judgement.
If the state can function without his attendance, it can be deduced that MB is redundant. There is no reason to go to a kafir country for his entitlement. A better and good place is to go perform a mini haj in SA.
He can pray for good weather for his state. This MB doesn't know his priorities. Very selfish thinking. No empathy for his Rakyat.
World Citizen : Your apology is not accepted for you should have returned when people in your state were suffering. Secondly, you are a PAS man and why did you choose NZ to holiday.
New Zealanders enjoy booze, gambling and sex. Aren't you being a total hypocrite having a good time in a kafir country. You should be holidaying in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran or any other Muslim country not a full blown kafir country!
This what you guys in PAS are, say one thing and do another thing. Total hypocrites.
