KUALA LUMPUR:
A national sprint coach is under investigation after an 18-year-old
athlete alleged he was instructed to fake an injury and withdraw from
Malaysia’s 4x100m squad for the 2025 SEA Games.
The parents of the athlete, Danish Irfan
Tamrin, say the move robbed him of a rightful place and exposed a deeper
flaw in the selection system.
Danish had just returned from the Asean
School Games (ASG) in Brunei with a silver in the 100m, gold in the 200m
and gold in the 4x100m relay.

His 10.61s in the 100m placed him among Malaysia’s top four sprinters this season, qualifying him for the relay pool.
Days later, he found himself removed from the SEA Games list.

subject of a formal complaint to Malaysia Athletics (MA), supported by
WhatsApp messages, a medical report from the National Sports Institute
(ISN), and a detailed letter of concern from his father.

voices from lawyers, civil society groups, and ordinary citizens have
been met not with accountability but with denials, deflections, and

The police, already stained by past controversies, now face fresh accusations of extra-judicial killing in Durian Tunggal, Malacca.

I agree with him about not being in the room while your wife gives birth. I was up by my wife's head, looking in her eyes. The nurses asked if I wanted the watch the baby come out and I said "Hell no! I eat at that restaurant lady!
I'll be back in 6 weeks when it reopens." The nurses laughed so hard. When they asked me to cut the cord I panicked and said "No way. You have a medical degree and I don't. You do it!" Sent them into gales of laughter again. I spent 4 hours being yelled at by one woman and laughed at by 2 others.
I was living in a sober living home in south FL in 2018. A few month into being there, I found out one of the other guys living there was friends with Russell. He eventually told me that Russell was the one that actually paid for his initial treatment and has continued to pay his sober living cost.
Of course one would have to question if this was some BS or not for obvious reasons, he was a recovering addict, we both were, and we're living at a sober living house together, I've heard a lot of people make stupid claims, but it was true.
One day we were smoking a cigarette outside and he called him just to say hello, and he put the call on speaker phone so I could hear, and there's no mistaking that voice, it was clear that it was RusselI. And he wasn't like going around bragging any of this. The only reason I found out was because all of us would just sit outside on the patio at night and joke around with each other.
This guy was absolutely hilarious. Very quick witted also. And he would just go down the line ragging on everyone there. I was already a big fan of Russell by that point because I saw this special, so I would do little bits from it.
I remember asking him if he ever heard of him, and that's when he mentioned the connection. So that's definitely really cool of Peters to do that. My friend did not disappoint and has been clean since 2017.

August 29th, 1526. A 20-year-old king. 25,000 men. And 90 minutes that destroyed a kingdom forever. King Louis II of Hungary stood on a scorching plain near the town of Mohács, staring at the impossible:
70,000 Ottoman soldiers under Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. Professional Janissaries with firearms. 200 bronze cannons. 20,000 Sipahi cavalry. The most powerful military machine in the world. Louis had farmers with spears. Knights in outdated armor. Allies who never came.
And a choice that would cost him everything. This is the complete story of the Battle of Mohács—the hour that ended medieval Hungary, killed a king in a marsh, and changed European history forever. The Battle of Mohács in 1526 remains one of the greatest military catastrophes in medieval European history:
in less than two hours, the independent Kingdom of Hungary, which had existed for nearly 600 years, was effectively destroyed. The court’s refusal to undertake military reforms after the death of Matthias Corvinus, the disbandment of the professional Black Army, the failure to develop modern artillery, and above all the deep internal divisions (most notably János Szapolyai withholding almost 40,000 troops from the battle for his own political ambitions) all led to this tragic outcome.

The harsh late-autumn weather of 1529, combined with fierce counterattacks by the defenders and the courageous mining operations beneath the walls, inflicted devastating losses on the Ottomans (estimated 30,000–40,000 dead from combat, disease, cold and hunger), forcing Suleiman to order the first major retreat of his reign.
Thus Mohács was the tragic prelude, while Vienna 1529 became the true turning point that halted the Ottoman advance into the heart of Europe.
