|Moonbats are extremists who, believe in conspiracy theories. First of all, has Mr. Perdana Global Peace the moral standing to talk about brutality or about the war in Iraq? Remember the brutalization of Anwar, just a quick recap, this was the excuse given, Dr. Mahathir told reporters that Mr.Anwar might have hurt himself to gain public sympathy. "It's not impossible because he will get plenty of mileage if he showed he was abused by police," Dr Mahathir was quoted as saying by the national news agency Bernama. The best part is we were not at war and nobody was getting killed.
Above: The infamous black eye.
It might have slipped the minds of bloggers who were attending the Perdana Global Peace Forum. Does anyone remember this cold blooded Mr. Global Peace? This was what he did to the Vietnamese boat people. In 1979, Malaysia's deputy prime minister Mahathir Mohamad declared that Malaysia would expel all 76,000 boat people in the country and shoot new arrivals on sight.
The government quickly backpedaled. Go to the link for details. Selective amnesia at old age suits him fine. The Bosnian people who nominated him for a Nobel prize, I would understand, the two Church organizations who nominated him must equally be moonbatish, looking at the state of minorities in Malaysia. They do not know the man.
Other than clinching him an outside chance at the Nobel, Dr M's latest assault on the world's patience and credulity - the Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Commission - looks like just the first shot in another battle in his career-long war against The West, whose leaders did far more than he ever did about putting a stop to ethnic cleansing in the former Yugoslavia. The victims of war on whose behalf he claims to be seeking redress are all, it seems, from places like Palestine, Iraq and Lebanon. And the war criminals he's targeting seem to be largely or even exclusively leaders of the so-called 'coalition of the willing', like George W Bush and Tony Blair.
It's also fair and timely to remind Dr M and his fellow pacifist poseurs that it was the US warmongers who liberated Muslim victim Kuwait from Muslim invader Iraq, and who have since, albeit in their typically wasteful, wayward and wrong-headed manner, fought hard with the help of the UK and other nations to free the Muslim people of Iraq and Afghanistan from the murderous tyrannies of Sadaam Hussein and the Taliban. There was a genocide taking place in Malaysia's backyard, Mr. Global Peace choose to ignore it. This of course was done by his good buddy Mr. Suharto. Many tens of thousands of Timorese died as a result of this "'generalized warfare' of encirclements, bombing, uprooting of the population, malnutrition and generalized brutalities", constituting the bulk of the estimated 200,000 victims of Indonesia's genocidal occupation policies between 1975 and 1999.He actually supported the Indonesians, Mahathir, who often lectures Western countries for their ''hypocrisy and double standards'', has been a staunch defender of Indonesian behavior in East Timor.
Asked in Singapore to explain his opposition to East Timor's independence in light of his outspoken support for the right of Kosovo, which has a Muslim majority, to break away from Serbia, Mahathir said Indonesia was entitled to integrate the territory.' The difference between East Timor and Kosovo is that East Timor has been with Indonesia for 25 years, and during that time there were no massacres,'' Mahathir said. ''The Indonesians were not behaving like Serbs.'' Conveniently forgetting Indonesia eventually killed over 200,000 Timorese -- one-third of the population -- in one of the worst genocides since World War II.
Oh yes, it affected one of our own, anyone with a bit of conscience would care to remember this poor lad Kamal Bamadhaj a 20-year-old student, was shot and killed by Indonesian soldiers on Tuesday, Nov. 12 1991, Kamal, was a New Zealand citizen of Malaysian origin.
Lets look at the credibility of some the participants invited by Mr. Global Peace :
1. Mr. Hans von Sponeck - A genocidal maniac once praised him. As it now turns out, Hans von Sponeck also pursued other interests in Iraq after he left the UN: Read on.
2. Prof Michel Chossudovsky -Another UN Useful Idiot. He views this "military adventure" as being "profit-driven" and argues in favor of "extensive international sanctions" against the U.S. and Israel. He fails to explain why such sanctions shouldn't be applied to Turkey and other NATO countries. He's been ranting that forever.
4. Cynthia McKinney - McKinney is an out-of-control, cop hating, anti-Semitic, racist black female.More on her here.
5. Mr.Ali Shalah - The Star of the Perdana Global Peace Forum. The trouble was, the man in the photograph was not. Whether he was forced to stand on a box and photographed is not clear, but evidence suggests that he adopted the identity of the iconic man on the box, the very symbol of Abu Ghraib, well after he left the prison. But if he was the hooded man on the box, he did not mention it on several key occasions in the first months after the scandal broke.
An Israeli (who) had interrogated and tortured detainees in Palestine."shows the commonality between Mr. Global Peace and Ali Shalah. I will not waste my time writing about the rest of the "nobodies". Ah yes, the infamous, Jews rule the world by proxy.
In Malaysia he has been the cause for the slide in the following :
1. Race relations
3. Project M
4. Infringing on the rights of Non-Muslims
5. Cronyism, Undermining the judiciary and many others.
6. Marginalization of the Non Malays Lee Kuan Yew is right and affirmative action Malaysian style.
7. Proton - his brainchild spiraling downwards, the rakyat losing their hard earned money, by being over protected, inflating the prices of better cars.
8. ACA- Making it into a toothless watchdog.
9. Irian Jaya - Here too Mr.Global Peace ignores the killings in his backyard.
10. Mr.Global Peace's hands are stained with blood in this country. Subscription required.
11. Mr.Global Peace inciting the Iraqi insurgents to kill more American soldiers at a time when the Allied forces are desperately aiding the fledgling Iraqi government. Mahathir should try comedy.
12. The non-Malays know they face a glass ceiling if they join the government
13. The lists are too many, to place them in here would take up a large amount of space and time. Instead of wasting time and resources, which is exactly what is happening, we Malaysian's should set up a tribunal and try Mr. Perdana Global Peace for the grave injustices inflicted upon the Rakyat of Malaysia.
It will be a sad day for a lot of us if he ever does get the Nobel Prize. Notice his hypocrisy, when he was the PM, he boycotted, now he gets a voice via the demonized Malaysiakini. All the injustices inficted by him on others should be his legacy. People should remember by that alone. Bloggers should not molly coddle this has been, Dictator, just because you are being fawned over by him. He needs you and he is desperate for an avenue for his voice to be heard.
Remember all the innocents who were detained by him, they never had a voice when they were incarcerated during "Ops Lallang". He was and is the destroyer of the soul of a Malaysian Malaysia. Let him stew. The above letter was published in Malaysiakini after being edited
Here is another take from anti genocide in Malaysiakini's letters, Dr M has no right to moral high ground. Here is more shit on the Father of Corruption, Mahathir.
Malaysia, a land of growth no moreWhen I was at the KLIA airport recently bidding farewell to my family, the lingering thought in my mind was "Am I making a mistake leaving this country?" The answer was just another question, "What good is there left in this country?" I am not leaving Malaysia because I found something better. I am a bit tired of the social and economic mismanagement of Malaysia and racially anchored policies.
I am already successful in Malaysia by any measure. At the last count, I was in the top 1percent income bracket. I graduated from USM and joined the civil service just like any other Malaysian Indian did in the 1980s. I studied law at my own expense and time with numerous challenges just like many other Malaysian Indians did. I awaited the first promotion you can get in civil service i.e. Senior Time scale A12. However as per NEP policy requirements, I was not given the rightful promotion despite many recommendations by the head of the statutory authority who supported my promotion with quantitative and qualitative justifications.
Finally, he personally informed me to quit the service and leave for private sector. I joined the private sector and in nine years I worked at the same level as I did in the government job but I leap-frogged my income and position. In my definition I am successful as I have saved enough to educate my children overseas, became well known in my industry for certain skills and knowledge and also ran a non-profit fraternity specific organisation to improve my fellow professionals public standing. So I am not one of those Malaysian who allowed himself to be left in the cold.
But where do I go from here? What does the future hold for this country which I dearly loved? Professionalism at work? How will this country survive the challenges of the future? And personally what can my children achieve in this country? As a USM Mass Communication graduate, we were trained to be socially responsible. At least the students of my era were! Thus, it always bothered me whenever I saw, heard and read about mismanagement of public monies through crooked and irresponsible means.
Sometimes it affected my sleep although I have nothing to do with it. I am no way directly and financially affected by such government wrongs and gross losses. Then there are the "happenings" in the civil service which is close to my heart. I note that it has gotten worse as many are not accountable, responsible or remotely knowledgeable. There are so many promoted in the civil service due to family links and thus no one can take action against another for want of professionalism in work.
The NEP was a good initiative for the poor Malays to improve their lot but abused by some political masters including the previous prime ministers' publically stated policy of making 1,000 Malay millionaires. I am not sure where are these Malay millionaires now and what have they given back to the country which made them millionaires. We can go on listing all the billions of losses and mistakes the political masters did for the past 40 years!
Of course the Chinese businessmen made a lot of mistakes in the first 10 years after Merdeka (they were racial and discriminatory in business practices). Change came slowly but surelyI can quote real life examples but let's keep to the theme here. The BN thought they can go on doing the same political game as they believed "Malaysians have a short memory of six months of anything".
The BN formula was so successful that to-date that it does not think anything is wrong with their formula but only people got it mixed up. And then came the Hindraf (whom I myself, who is always on top of the social agenda, did not notice until October 2007) which changed the political thinking of the Indians first, then the Chinese and now the Malays. I and many of my friends, who have nothing to do with the Hindraf leaders (to-date I have not met any of them), campaigned for the issues raised by them, first amongst the Indians (especially the well educated and "well-incomed" Indians).
Many Indians in my category of income and position did not relate to the issues and some were so oblivious to it. We (in an uncoordinated form) spoke to the Chinese and Malay friends and somehow the fever for change took the form of SMSes, blogs, Facebooks, websites etc. Suddenly the Malaysian public realised there were SO MANY corrupt actions, abuse of public authorities and powers, wrongs, mistakes and mismanagement of monies by the BN government.
This all led to one action required i.e. vote out the government.Factors of past growth. Now, let us assess who and what was professional which led to Malaysia's growth in 1960s,1970s and upto mid 80s:
1. Ministries were led by secretary-generals and their department directors. They had a say in the budget, allocations, management and public spending. The ministers consulted the government officials on public spending. We had government officials conducting opening ceremonies.
Now, have you heard any government servant given the honour? Now ministers run to open restaurants!
2. Government departments were led by intelligent Malays, Chinese and Indians. They had the Malaysians at heart in their actions. We have programme like SOS (Sometimes called Sini Orang Susah), Flying doctors and others. Even the scouts and girl guides associations were given honour. Then came Dr Mahathir who wanted to destroy anything even remotely connected to our colonial past and wanted to reshape Malaysia in his image.
3. Banking. During Ismail Ali's time (only downside was that he was Dr Mahathir's brother-in-law), Bank Negara was the centre of fiscal and monetary policy. There were proper checks and balances in various business practices. Officials supervising industries had competency, integrity, honesty and professionalism. Otherwise action were taken. However now, just look at our insurance industry where Malaysians pay one of highest premiums but returns were full of loopholes. Everyday new products are launched like the US derivates but do the public really benefit from these, or are they scams?
They said an average Japanese has three insurance policies. I think the Japanese believe in their insurance scheme but look at the Malaysian statistics on insurance. Do you know there is a specific regulator in Bank Negara for the insurance industry and he has to validate all schemes? I suppose he can't do much because all major insurance companies are co-owned by PNB, an Umno vehicle. Mahathir did not like many deposit taking and financing companies in Malaysia which you cannot control. So, he made it illegal for these companies to operate in 1980/90s. He wanted to put his kunchu-kunchus in charge of all these outfits.
4. During Auditor General Ahmad Noordin's time, spending of government money was monitored. Of course the self declared CEO of the country Mahathir not only fired him for conducting the BMF scandal inquiry professionally but also disgraced him.
5. During Hanif Omar's time as the inspector general of police, he had good relationship with the PMs but did not allow the police to be used for the whims and fancies of Umno. The police fought many criminal gangs like Botak Chin and we had many crime busters.
6. During Harun Hashim, Eusoffe Abdulcader, George Seah, Azmi Kamaruddin, Wan Hamzah, Wan Suleiman Pawanteh's time, the judiciary was seen and heard as neutral to all people and businessmen. Mahathir hated this idea that they could make decisions without consulting him.
7. The Chinese worked hard in setting up industries and businesses. The Malays generally both in politics and government gave good leadership i.e. they supported the business and did not grab stakes or demanded contracts in businesses.
8. The food in the country was better. But now in Malaysia almost all restaurants use low quality ingredients and cheap meats. Just go to Singapore and eat a bowl of curry mee, nasi lemak or roti canai at a stall and you will feel the difference. Even in Qatar which does not produce any vegetables, meat or milk, you can get high quality cow's milk at affordable price, fresh vegetables at reasonable cost. What happened to the Malaysian health inspectors who used to visit restaurants and food processing factories in 1970s?
The list can go on. Slowly these leaders and their ministries and departments began dying under the heavy weight of one self-proclaimed CEO of the country Mahathir. He used the Malay sentiment to woo the Malays in the government departments and used them for his antics. He found that it was easy to sway the Umno Malays by claiming he knows all the medicines for the so called Malay problem. He wanted to make the Malays like Chinese. As a result now we have Melayu Baru who want money, money and more money by hook or crook. What is the cause of BN's death? The BN started dying after the coming to power of Mahathir.
He did several things to aid and abet the death:
1. Umno was made mainstay party in BN to aid cronies to make monies.
2. Umno cronies were consulted on country policies/decisions.
3. Component party leaders were made weak/corrupted and subservient to the.
4. Government machinery and funds became subject to political leaders/Umno
5. The single most change which killed BN parties was Mahathir's amendmentto Societies Act after the Umno leadership tussle between him and Tengku RazaleighIn view of the foregoing, there is no scope for BN to take back the votes of the Malaysians unless there is radical change in the composition and management of BN. But BN leaders rather die than change. By the next general election, the three enforcement bodies who are authorised to maintain law and order in Malaysia i.e. the Police, the MACC, the armed forces and its related bodies like immigration, judiciary and other ministries will only get from bad to worse as the political masters will continue using them in to stay in power.
I am not a doomsday prophet like Paul Krugman but the change in the world started taking place with the fall of the Russian empire as Glasnost in late 1980's. All the great regimes and governments which ruled the last 50 years have been collapsing (since WWII). Fall before risingUmno has to fail and fall before it is reborn. It "has to" fail like the conservatives in the UK, the Congress party in India, LDP in Japan, Suharto's regime in Indonesia, and Marcos in the Philippines.
The question is not whether Umno will fall or not, but when Umno falls what will happen to Malaysia and its political, social, economic, cultural systems! Umno will create a disaster as it will try to divert the course of nature and history by doing a Razak (declare emergency) or Mahathir (arrest everyone like Ops Lalang). The system will crash: Why? UMNO has created a mechanism where there is no difference between Malaysia and Umno. All these years Umno was fighting the battle with the Opposition using Umno's internal strength. But Umno has realised it is left with no gurkhas or structures to fight with.
Money in Umno kitty is gone with its previous treasurer, its state leaders have destroyed their own supporters due to corruption and cronyism. So in the last 12 months Umno is using its next bastion of power, the government machinery. Soon the army might be enlisted as well. The abuse of government money and authorities to defend Umno and BN leaders and prosecute the opposition is so obvious even to a fifth former. Just read the Facebooks.
The political leaders of Umno have created a situation that when Umno crashes the country crashes. They will instil fear, enlist the army, police, FRUs and MACCs to go all out against anyone who may derail their plans to stay in power. When that happens, where will Malaysia head then? Another well written piece sent by CHUNG Yoon Ngan Date: 04-03-08 19:22 The corruption of Mahathir SOROS REPLY TO MAHATHIR adapted from Bangkok Post
I have always said Dr Mahathir is a menace to his own people. Now only you can see the effects of his foolishness when the ringgit has halved its value overnight and your economy goes kaput. Single handedly you have caused hardship to millions of your own people. You have built useless mega projects at tremendous cost to the country. The telecoms tower in Kuala Lumpur and the highest building in the world show how stupid you are. Not only does it cause massive traffic jam, it has totallyno purpose. If you need high ground for telecoms antennae a nearby mountain is there for free. This tower has no purpose from the ground up to 300 metres. The satellites make this totally unneccesary.
A fool and his money are soon parted. The only thing is you are the fool and the money belongs to Malaysians. You make 20% in evey project, you have real estate in Japan and billions of shares corruptly acquired. Your 3 sons are worth 8 billion US$. Where do they get this money? Of course, corruption. You are known as the Marcos of Malaysia, having enriched yourself to thetune of billions. You dare to shed crocodile tears during UMNO delegates meeting about the ills of corruption. Yet you are the most corrupt of all the prime ministers before you. A thief is crying thief and hopes people look the other way. Who dares to say anything when the chief is caught with his hands in the candy jar?You said wisdom is not the monopoly of the West. So is foolishness.
You have more foolishness than most people would believe. Billions are used to build two high rise Petronas buildings that benefit nobody. It now stand tall, a symbol of stupidity and irresponsibility Instead they just add on to traffic jam. What is this reclamation of 10 islands off Kedah? Totally absurd and stupid! Of course your benefit is 20%. And the bridge across from Malacca to Sumatra across international waters? Why not build a bridge to the moon? I am sure you still can get your 20%.You called me a Moron. How can a Moron make so much money?
By allowing short- selling and borrowing millions of shares from your banks we fund managers made millions out of your inexperience and poor regulations. You lose all Malaysians money, therefore you are the Moron. Now you know too late and start crying over split milk. In Australia you are known as the recalcitrant ego maniac; in UK the corrupt bastard because of your stupid purchase of our movie studio and the 290 million ringgit Lotus racing car plant and the shady Pergau dam loans from the UK. They are useless to us and you still want to buy them. What about buying British reject submarines through your agent, of course. The agent/broker is designed to make millions out of Malaysian government.
Your purchase of our battleships is at least 50% more than others are paying. Your purchase of 9 hospitals from UK lock, stock and barrel does not support your local architects or your industry and the British send you obsolete medical equipment. The design is atrocious, one end to the other is half a kilometer and there is no CT-scan, an absolute necessity. In the UK your face appears in no less than 17 newspapers as a corrupt dictator. In Malaysia you are known as the (IBM) International Big Mouth. In Japan they call him the 'smallest one' (brain size). In Pacific island the Santa Claus (giving advice left and right). In South America they call him the parrot (he talks a lot but does not know what it is about). In Manila the living Marcos.
In Malaysia they are spending millions to lure tourists and you talk rubbish scaring every foreigner away. "When he is dumb he is doubted a fool, when he opens his mouth it removes all doubt." While I agree the West does not have the monopoly to wisdom, your actions are not the wisest either. Your EAEC has totally no support even in Asean. Your South-South dialogue met with the same fate and what is this I hear of the Bridge from Malaysia to Indonesia covering 20 miles across International shipping lanes? How crazy can one get? Even the Japanese don't have the money. This world's stupidity seems to be concentrated in one man's mind ù yours.
The multimedia super corridor - MSC -. Well in USA it's most stupid concept because we Americans, would have thought of it light years before. Even if it makes money, we can copy this concept can't we? Why do you want to spend your hard-earned money doing questionable projects? It will be like the Bakun project. Abandoned funds, wasted and another white elephant. I always say politicians should not be involved in business. Your ministers are also businessmen and almost every official is enriching himself. Look at Rafidah Aziz, selling thousands of Approved Permit for cars each worth 20-30 thousand Malaysian dollars. Why not your government sell them and make the money? She has acquired millions of shares meant for bumis for free before she agrees to list them.
Look at your Selangor Chief Minister collecting millions for approving high rise buildings from businessmen. He is worth a few billions. Unfortunately he was caught with a few million pocket money in Australia. Every Chief minister is awarding useless projects to his cronies then collecting secret pay offs on the side. The Land Development Boards and the Economic Development Boards are used to bailout any losses suffered by politicians. The profits they keep, the losses they force the Government bodies to absorb. How can your poor ever close the gap when every good deal is snatched by your politicians? How can your country get out of poverty if all the billions of corruption money is taken out of the country?
Look at the Sarawak Chief Minister selling billions worth of timber concessions under the table; selling every piece of state land to businessman without tender; using his own companies to obtain lucrative government contracts; selling approval signatures for a fee 'you pay I approve'. He has 8 billion US stashed overseas. Thousands of acres of land are given to one or two companies while thousands of poor people still live in cardboard makeshift homes; have no water and @!#$ into the river. Thousands of acres of land are sold to companies for plantations while the native don't have even one acre to their name.
He is selling sand near the beaches to one company for earth filling and then ask the government to spend millions to protect the coastline when erosion occurs. He lost 300 millions of the Sarawak government money trying to make computer chips. He has built a port in Northern Sarawak town in water so shallow it needs dredging every year. The Prime Minister built highways without tender, your cronies get the deal and the price double. Your Langkawi airport runway that was built is double the cost by your own company Ekran. The Malaysian nation has lost at least 30 billions during your last 10 years of corrupt rule. One billion lost from the purchase of Phantom Skyhawk war planes nobody has ever seen (are they still in the Nevada desert USA?).
3 billion lost from the London tin scandal (you thought you could corner the London tin market without knowing the Americans have a stockpile! Stupidity at its best! 6 billion Perwaja steel mill where nobody even know where the money goes, 3 billion bank Bumiputra scandal where George Tan bribed all the bank officials to lend him the money. 6 billion forex lost by Bank Negara (the fool and his money are soon parted) and 6 billion to build three of the worlds tallest buildings (built by Japanese and Koreans and furniture imported from France - not Malaysia) and 1 billion lost from purchase of British warship including fees paid to the broker and under the table.
Add the 10 billion you stole and 5 billion taken by Ministers. In the 1997 the World Journalists meeting voted Dr Mahathir the Prime Minister of the Decade. It sounded strange to everybody until it was revealed those who voted against are threatened by IRD officers and with losing their jobs. In New York the United Nations 1997 meeting, the most corrupt Prime Minister of the decade is President Suharto and second Dr Mahathir (Actually Dr Mahathir should take first place but bribed the Indonesian to take honour of Number One.
Fifty thousand of your university students are not given places in Malaysia but are good enough for places overseas resulting in billion of dollars lost. The British and the Australians are thinking how stupid. Your best students are sent overseas raising their standards while as in most countries the best are kept in local universities and the rejects sent overseas. A university student in Hong Kong is much more prestigious than any Australian counterpart. You have been colonised by the British so long you cannot even educate your own people. Look at Hong Kong or Singapore less than 5% study overseas.
All the money saved. Your country could save billions if every student overseas is recalled to a local university, and at the same time raising your own standards.Your people are still without shoes, without land to farm, without homes, bathing in rivers shitting in hole in the ground, without water and electricity. Your cities are concrete jungles without greenery and open spaces. Your KL is jammed with traffic. Yet you still keep on building high rises. You should come down from the clouds and stop daydreaming and firmly plant your feet in the ground.
Your schools are cramped 500 students to an acre and thousands of acres are given free to some politician who leaves them idle. Your parks are being taken by politicians to build shophouses and every cabinet minister is a land-grabbing businessman who build roads only to their cronies' land. The Malaysians' prayer :"Ya Allah, we thank you for your gifts of timber, oil and grain. But then the devil sent us corrupt Mahathir without a Brain And look we are back to square one again. So just take Dr Mahathir back to Hell And we will be alive and well.
"In China people have been shot for embezzling one thousand dollars. With 8 billions you have stolen therefore you would be shot 80 thousand times. Now you are leading an anti-corruption campaign. We all know what you should do. Look yourself in the mirror. You see the crook there! Then use your left hand and handcuff your right hand. You have put the opposition leader and his son in jail when they said in parliament you are the richest PM in the world. And his colleague Mr. Karpal Singh too for 2 years. So I get a reward or bribe if I now say you are the poorest PM in this world?Your 3 sons are sitting in the board of directors of more than 200 companies.
They must have been educated in Harvard school of business and obtained distinctions? Or is it "you don't know me you don't do business in Malaysia" law that applies. Billions of ringgit of Employee's Provident Funds and public Petronas funds are used to bail out your sons who make losses investing in every venture you thought you could make money. How unethical and corrupt! !Every one of your politicians are sitting on the boards of tens of companies making thousands without any effort, lending their VIP names to borrow millions from local banks without collateral.
Now these have become non performing loans. Now you want 20 million Malaysian to sacrifice for the folly of ONE man? Why not the fool resign and admit he wasted and took most of the money. I could teach you how to put your economy on tract but first you must apologize to the Jews and the Malaysian people as well. Our World Forum II at Asiawind 'SOROS'From my hometown,Pusing, Perak, Malaysia.
Of crooked roads and crooked people. Funny. On the way to JB from Singapore recently, I noticed that the road leading from Singapore Customs to Iskandar Immigration and Custom complex is now finally and properly aligned and 'straight', the way it should be. I have been anticipating this alignment for quite some time as the old way was crooked and winding, making the journey long and unpleasant. The temporary winding road was a joke as to why Malaysia always built things 'funny' and substandard like there was no proper planning. Of course, no 'straight' builders would want to build the roads leading out from the complex to nowhere - but because of our 'crooked' concept, some roads leading to/from Singapore just ended nowhere.
Apparently, the builder had no choice on the road system, especially those from/to Singapore because instinct tells me that they designed it on the assumption that there would be a 'crooked' bridge' halfway to rejoin the 'straight' causeway. An old, powerful and wise 'crooked-man' insisted that there be a 'crooked' bridge in JB by hook or by crook and even now, still maintains that a 'crooked' bridge is best for Malaysia or JB.The 'crooked-wise-powerful-man' is a die-hard believer of 'crooked-ness' and leads by example.
So apparently everything he carries out is based on his 'crooked' principle and the writer believes this may be due to its 'crooked' upbringing. 'He even claimed to have an enlightenment during a visit to his old country (a place where he originally came from - probably visiting relatives), insisting that the people there do not complain about 'crooked' bridges. He claimed not to have seen it clearly because of the mist (beside memory, eyesight is failing too) but he felt elevated to know that there is one out there. He is still on a holy quest to spread his 'crooked-ness' beliefs, as we speak.
Well whatever this 'crooked-wise-powerful-old-man' did, he has caused JB or the government, a large sum of money, looking at how much work was needed to straighten the current road to properly align it the way it should. The money otherwise could have spent for the rakyat's welfare. If only if the 'crooked-wise-powerful-old-man' would see this world 'straight'.In any case, today, the journey to JB from Singapore is now a breeze. By Kong in Malaysiakini
