No Atheists
In A Foxhole

Rudyard Kipling

" ā€œWhen you're left wounded on
Afganistan's plains and

the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle

and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldierā€
General Douglas MacArthur

" ā€œWe are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.ā€

ā€œIt is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.ā€
ā€œOld soldiers never die; they just fade away.
ā€œThe soldier, above all other people, prays for peace,
for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.ā€
ā€œMay God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .ā€
ā€œThe object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.

ā€œNobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
ā€œIt is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died.
Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Maybank (Malayan Banking Berhad) Amex Card - Screws You, be Aware of it !!
Tuesday, July 16, 2013

Malaysiakini : Fahmi wants probe on new 'data leak' involving Maybank, Astro and EC

I am re-posting this, from 16th July 2013, in relation to Maybank.  I have never applied for an Amex card. I got a Master card by virtue my salary goes into Maybank2u. There happen to be a thousand over employees where I work. Maybank2u gives you a Master card and forces, an Amex card on you. You see, they shove the Amex card down your throat whether you like it or not. I said I did not want the Amex card, no they insisted I must have both, one cannot have only the Master card! Okay when I received the Master card and the Amex card, as any normal trusting person I activated the card. I purchase fuel at the petrol kiosk using the Master card whenever I need to top up my car. I used the Amex card only once to do the same. After which I paid of the amount on the Amex card. I actually overpaid by RM2.15. Since I was only using my Master card, I kept my Amex card at home, ā€œcold storagingā€ it, never carrying it or using it.

On the 25th June 2013, I received two SMSā€™s from Maybank2u, the first SMS at 01.45 am stating that I had purchased a product for USD34.25 AT KARMALOOP INC and the second SMS at 01.46 am stating that I had purchased a product for EUR 162.62 AT WWW.MENLOOK.COM using my now,  ā€œcold storagedā€  Amex card. I was so totally flabbergasted. Here are the SMSā€™s I got, I crossed out the numbers on my cards:

1.      RM0.00 MBB:TQ for using your Maybankard ending XXXX for EUR162.62 AT WWW.MENLOOK.COM \\;25/06/13;01:46.For inq call num at back of your card

2.      RM0.00 MBB:TQ for using your Maybankard ending XXXX for USD34.25 AT KARMALOOP INC \\;25/06/13;01:45.For inq call num at back of your card

I came in to work, the same morning of the 25th June 2013. I spoke to a Khalid at 08.25 am,  at Maybank, who told me that they would cancel the card and send me a new Amex card. He told me to wait for 7 days and call him back on the following Wednesday which is on the 3rd July 2013. He explained that is would take a week to clear this problem.  Later when I logged in to check online I saw that my link to the Amex card was not active. It was a temporary relieve.

On the 27th June 2013,  when I logged into Maybank2u, I was again shocked that the link to the Amex card was active again showing that I owed them RM708.46 (EUR 162.62) for a transaction using the Amex card. Smart guys those in Maybank2u, they were using an Amex card which I had yet to receive, the new replacement for the fraudulent transaction card! Bloody efficient arenā€™t they?  I called up Maybank2u again, spoke to a lady with the name of Asha at 07.46 am on the 27th June 2013.

I had to repeat all the earlier shit I told Khalid. To which she asked me whether I had filled up a dispute form. That was indeed news to me, I told her that Khalid never mentioned it to me. Why should I fill up a dispute form when it was Maybank that was screwing me. I asked her why did not Khalid ask me to fill up the so called ā€˜Dispute formā€™. I again asked her if there was any standard SOP to handle customer disputes instead of giving wish washy answers. It was typical government department style, the same as when you call TNB, Telecoms, or that department which deals with shit, Indah Water. I asked her to ask her to call me back when they could give me an answer, I demanded that it be done by today.

Khalid calls me back at approximately 11.30 am ( did not record the approximate time), aah yes the ā€œDispute Formā€, he now tells me I had to fill it up. Not immediately though, but wait until I am charged for the USD34.25 too, then only to fill up the form!! After which I was to call them on Wednesday, 3rd July 2013.  According to Khalid the investigations would take 45 days. Khalid also told me about the new Amex card which I have yet to receive. Meantime in the place where I work, which employs over a thousand people. I spoke to around 20 people in my immediate vicinity, not less than 5  people experienced the same shit I am undergoing. They cancelled their cards except for their Maybank2u card which they have no choice as all of our salaries are banked into this bank of screwups. They all use other cards, not Maybankā€™s!  There is no way a fraudulent transaction can take place without an insider giving out information on the cards of customers, within Maybank itself. Honesty goes down the toilet in MayBank. I received the new card in the evening of  27th June 2013.

On Wednesday 3rd July 2013, I noticed that the transaction for USD34.25 was not charged, I was charged for the EUR162.62 which is RM708.46. The actual amount showed on the Amex card was RM705.88, when you go to the history of transactions the amount goes up to RM708.46. This morning I called up Maybank customer service at 1-800-88-1801 and spoke to a lady with the name Hani at 0755 hrs.  They had sent me a dispute form via slow mail on the dated 25th June 2013. I received it on the 29th June 2013. I asked to clarify some parts of the form to e-mail it to disputemgmt@maybank.com.myn  She told me to call back in an hourā€™s time to confirm whether they had received my dispute form.

After which I told her I wanted to cancel the new Amex card and the MasterCard, she had the temerity to ask why I wanted to do so. I just told her bluntly that  I do not trust MayBank. I further e-mailed them twice to cancel my MasterCard and Amex card. Until today which is the 5th July 2013, it has not been done. My whole analysis of this is, it is an inside job. Why do I say this? How an earth would the perpetrators of this fraud know all the details on my card, which had been ā€œcold storagedā€. Why is Maybank so bloody reluctant to cancel my cards? Dream on, I am not going to pay for this even if hell freezes over. Take note all of you out there, who have Maybank cards.

The same thing has happened to me today with the Maybank AMEX card. It was used via the Internet at KARMALOOP again as per the SMS. Like your case, the AMEX card in question was never used by me so the information on the card had to come from inside Maybank somehow. They have cancelled the card now. At least the person I called did mention the dispute form up front.

I encountered the same problem today. Got an SMS informing of a USD23.20 transaction at KARMALOOP INC.
Called MBB customer service and was informed it was an internet shopping transaction. The person I spoke to arranged to cancel my AMEX card and replacement will be ready within 2-4 days. He did mention that if the transaction has been posted (it will appear in the statement in about 7 days), I'd have to fill up the dispute form.
I asked further on how this can happen as I was worried it was some hacking or security issues with my pc which I perform online banking transactions on and if my other cards are also implicated. The officer mentioned they have quite a number of complaints on this merchant and for the moment, only the AMEX is used. He said he's not sure how this could happen.
Anyway, I'm so worried about it I googled to check if anyone has encountered the same problem. Surprisingly there are quite a number of same incidents with MBB AMEX card. :(

Whenever an online banking fraud happens, make a police report IMMEDIATELY.

The same thing happened to me with Hong Leong Bank. I've followed their 'file dispute' process and thought that it was the end of it. The customer service even reassured that after 90 days the unauthorized transaction will be credited from account, but it never happened. They even have the cheek to send me an official letter with signature that it was due to my carelessness and did not make a dispute within 14 days upon receiving sms on the unauthorized transaction. To make matters worse I've inured interest of late payment for those transactions.

I made a police report after that and gave a call to Hong Leong Bank to dispute on the official report of the disputed transaction. It is only after I threaten them with the police report and voice recording with customer service (thank god for smartphones) did they finally credited the transaction. The interest is still there though.

Btw,I forgot to add. During my conversation with investigating officer, he advice that a police report MUST be made as soon as possible (within 24 hours). Due to the delay of my report (90 over days), he classify it as personal dispute between me and the bank and there is very little the police can do.
