12-Year-Old Chopped into Six Pieces for Disobeying Father

MULTAN: A 12-year-old girl was killed on Friday allegedly by her father for refusing to marry a man of his choice,

Police said the girl’s body was found chopped into six pieces. Police said Muhammad Khadim, 46, a resident of Khoja area in Shujabad, had accepted his nephew’s proposal for his daughter six months ago.

They said his sister and brother-in-law had been pressing him to arrange the wedding.They said his daughter Haseena, who was studying in grade 6, did not want to marry. Some relatives said that she had requested her father to let her finish college, but he had refused.

They said her mother Shahnaz Bibi, too, was against the early marriage. They said she had argued with her husband over the matter and was beaten up for it. They said he had accused her of brainwashing their daughter.
