Meet the Salman Rushdie of Sweden and other European freedom fighters
All week we’ve been investigating the massive Muslim migration that is transforming Europe. So far, we’ve focused on the Muslim migrants themselves, but now we’re going in a different direction.Meet Swedish street artist Dan Park.
Some of his work is crude and some is thought provoking. Of course, Park is a leftist. I think everyone in Sweden is.
Dan Park made some posters about Muslim migrants and was invited to exhibit his work in an art gallery.
What happened next?
He was jailed.
To meet our next interviewee, artist named Lars Vilks, police told us to go to the Malmo train station and wait in the coffee shop until we were phoned with instructions. It was like being in a Cold War spy movie.
Watch our interview with Lars to see why he lives like Salman Rushdie does, under as much protection as a prime minister. He had a good humour about him, but talking with him made me sad.
Things aren’t going to get better in Sweden. After all, why would they?
We went back to Denmark, to talk to Lars Hedegaard, a historian and a free speech activist. And he too had a full-time bodyguard -- because he was shot at by a Muslim.
Oh, Lars was on trial, too, the very week we talked to him.
You won’t believe why…
