The Pakistan Virus, killing Balochistan

On August 11, 1947 the State of Kalat (Balochistan ) emerged as an independent country as Great Britain ended its colonial rule over the Indian Subcontinent, by partitioning it into the Republic if India and the Islamic State of Pakistan.
After both houses of the Balochistan Parliament in Kalat voted unanimously to become an independent nation, the country of Balochistan was born and recognised as such by both India, Pakistan and the departing British.
However, in March 1948 Pakistan’s Military invaded Balochistan and since then the Baloch people have been fighting to end this occupation while Pakistan has been carrying out a genocide to enrich Islamabad and exploit the gas, oil, copper, and gold from the land as it starves the people.
In this two-part episode of “What The Fatah” by New Delhi Times, host Tarek Fatah explains the tragedy of the Baloch people forgotten and abandoned by the United Nations.
