No Atheists
In A Foxhole
ā€œWhen you're left wounded on

Afganistan's plains and

the women come out to cut up what remains,

Just roll to your rifle

and blow out your brains,

And go to your God like a soldierā€

ā€œWe are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.ā€

ā€œIt is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.ā€

ā€œOld soldiers never die; they just fade away.

ā€œThe soldier, above all other people, prays for peace,

for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.ā€

ā€œMay God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .ā€
ā€œThe object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.

ā€œNobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.

ā€œFixed fortifications are a monument to the stupidity of man."
ā€œIt is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died.
Rather we should thank God that such men lived.

The Soldier stood and faced God

Which must always come to pass

Photobucket
He hoped his shoes were shining

Just as bright as his brass

"Step forward you Soldier,

How shall I deal with you?

Have you always turned the other cheek?

To My Church have you been true?"

"No, Lord, I guess I ain't

Because those of us who carry guns

Can't always be a saint."

I've had to work on Sundays

And at times my talk was tough,

And sometimes I've been violent,

Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny

That wasn't mine to keep.

Though I worked a lot of overtime

When the bills got just too steep,

The Soldier squared his shoulders and said

And I never passed a cry for help

Though at times I shook with fear,

And sometimes, God forgive me,

I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place

Among the people here.

They never wanted me around

Except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here,

Lord, It needn't be so grand,

I never expected or had too much,

But if you don't, I'll understand."

There was silence all around the throne

Where the saints had often trod

As the Soldier waited quietly,

For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, you Soldier,

You've borne your burden well.

Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,

You've done your time in Hell."

Tiananmen Square massacre, 32 years on - Never Forget What The Chicoms Did!!! - 4th June 1989
Saturday, June 05, 2021
32 years ago, China massacred democracy. It sent tanks to kill unarmed students. Today, China has banned people from paying tribute to the dead.
On June 4, 1989, Chinese troops expelled thousands of demonstrators from Tiananmen Square, killing an unknown number. One day later, a lone protester stood his ground before a column of tanks. Learn more about how the iconic image of the Tank Man, captured by Western photographers, was one The iconic image of the Tank Man,was one China never wanted the world to see. Even after the Peopleā€™s Liberation Army soldiers opened fire into crowds of civilians in Tiananmen Square on the morning of June 4, 1989, it seemed that some didnā€™t believe the bullets were real. Itā€™s almost fitting that Tank Manā€™s identity is unknown. He could be anyone, and thatā€™s the point.
A lone citizen standing up to an oppressive regime. What an image........ and to this day, the Guinness Book of Records is still searching for him to award him the record for the biggest pair of balls!!!!
For weeks, students had gathered in the Beijing square, demonstrating for more political freedom and less corruption in the Chinese government through sit-ins and hunger strikes. Still, they didnā€™t want to overthrow the one-party system, then led by de facto head Deng Xiaoping, and several government officials had advocated for a peaceful resolution to the protests.

That never came. On June 2, Chinese Communist Party elders gave orders for the military to clear the Square with force ā€” crossing into uncharted authoritarian territory. Today, the effects of the crackdown are clear in Chinaā€™s top-down political system and the Chinese Communist Partyā€™s obsessive repression of dissent.

FRONTLINE spoke with Jean-Pierre Cabestan, a political science professor at Hong Kong Baptist University and author of ā€œChina Tomorrow: Democracy or Dictatorship?,ā€ to understand how the events of thirty years ago have influenced the Chinese Communist Party today.
