Afghan migrant commits deadly attack in Villeurbanne, France, on people who “do not read the Quran”: judges declare him criminally not liable for punishment​.

On August 31, 2019, a man had caused a panic at the Laurent-Bonnevay bus station in Villeurbanne. Sultan Mohamed Niazi had just attacked fourteen passers-by with a kitchen knife and a barbecue fork. Timothy Bonnet, 19, who had been attacked from behind, died of his injuries.

Eight other people had been hit and injured. Unsurprisingly, the schizophrenic attacker was declared criminally not liable.
