NOT so great britain : Manhunt on for Muslim suspected of murdering his girlfriend, ‘victim suffered serious neck injuries’ By Robert Spencer

Maher Maaroufe, 22

Jihad Watch : Maaroufe is suspected of killing his girlfriend, Sabita Thanwani, who was apparently a Muslim also.

But Thanwani’s “severe neck injuries” are worth noting. The Qur’an tells men to beat women from whom they fear disobedience (4:34). The idea that women must obey men is taken for granted in Islam. Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley, who is leading the investigation, said police believe the victim was studying at City, University of London. Sky News understands she was a first-year foreign student, thought to be of Middle East background.

DCI Bradley said: “Early indications so far suggest that the victim had been in a relationship with Maaroufe and that they had been together that evening….
