Three women associated with a madrassa attacked a former classfellow - who was now working at a different madrassa - with a sharp-edged weapon for alleged blasphemy and killed her on the spot in Dera Ismail Khan's Anjumabad area, according to the victim’s uncle.

As per the initial application submitted to police, a copy of which is available with Aaj Digital, the victim’s uncle stated that he was alerted via a phone call about the attack on his niece and that she was lying severely injured at the gate of the madrassa. Upon arriving, he found the bloodied body with a chador on top of the victim and her throat slit.
