Jihad Watch : The same narrative is figuring in this case that plays out in virtually every jihad attack in the West:

Abbasi is reportedly claiming to be mentally ill. Meanwhile, it’s noteworthy that he is a chemical engineer, once again belying the common narrative that jihad terrorists are poor and uneducated.

Note also that Abbasi was apparently asking that someone shoot him. This could be because he wanted to be a martyr and thereby attain paradise.
