No Atheists
In A Foxhole

Rudyard Kipling

" “When you're left wounded on
Afganistan's plains and

the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle

and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur

" “We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”

“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.”
“Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace,
for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .”
“The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.

“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died.
Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Alleged Arab royal promised US$1.17b donation to Najib, claim letters By Hidir Reduan Abdul Rashid
Monday, October 03, 2022

Malaysiakini : 1MDB TRIAL | Two letters purportedly from an Arab prince claimed to have promised a total US$1.17 billion (RM5.44 billion) in donations to former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Najib’s defence team showed these documents to the Kuala Lumpur High Court during today’s trial of the RM2.28 billion 1MDB corruption case against the former finance minister.

The accused’s legal team is relying on the line of defence that Arab donations flowed into his bank account in 2013.

During cross-examination of the 38th prosecution witness, Yap Wai Keat, who is the head of AmBank’s capital market desk, defence counsel Wan Aizuddin Wan Mohammed showed the two letters purportedly by one Saud Abdulaziz al-Saud and addressed to Najib.

One letter - dated Nov 1, 2011 - promised a US$375 million donation while the other letter - dated March 1, 2013 - promised a US$800 million donation.

Last week during proceedings before trial judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah, the defence team also showed to the court another purported letter from Saud dated Feb 1, 2011, that allegedly promised US$100 million donation to Najib.

The Feb 1 letter allegedly promised the US$100 million donation over “Recognition of Contribution to the Islamic World”. The three letters have yet to be formally allowed by the court to be tendered as exhibits in the case.

ipohcrite: The letters were clearly an afterthought (after the cat was out of the bag) and the language used was designed to be used in court to fend off accusations of wrong doing. No donor in his right mind would be that explicit to the point of ridicule. Only the twisted minds of those spinning the Arab fable.

Gasinggeorge : Even if it was a donation (which i believe it was not), would Najib return more than 90% of the money? Why return any of it? It does not make sense. Even the alleged support letter from the donor states that he can do with the money what he wants and if he doesnt know how to spend it then at least use it to promote islam. So why give most of the money away again? Its completely nonsensical and therefore cant be true, an idiotic defense really.

Malaysian123: With the acquittal of Zahidi, the stories will become taller and taller. What a sad day for justice, for Malaysia , and for its Rakyat.!!!

iammi : Someone said he met the donors. Call him as witness.

Vijay47 : At last a long-standing mystery has been solved – Former AG Apandi Ali had ruled that Najib Razak did not commit any offence since a kind Arab had promised the former prime minister a princely sum of RM5.44 billion, which is what kind Arabs do all over the world.

Obviously, a promise is a promise and as we all know, a letter to that effect would be acceptable evidence in any Malaysian court, never mind that the dinars did not do an actual durian runtuh onto anyone’s lap. Not only that, the kind Arab Prince Saud Abdulaziz al-Saud, who nobody has seen hide nor hair of, had even more kindly certified that such donations cannot be construed a bribe since bribes are “against the practice of Islam”.

And that is that. The best part is that the defence counsel actually submitted the letter from the kind invisible Arab as clear evidence of Najib Razak’s innocence! MACC should be glad about the proof. Thank you for this news item, Malaysiakini. Today I learned that Saud Abdulaziz al-Saud is the Saudi name for David Copperfield.
