Sabah ministers sue Thomas for ‘botching’ Sulu heir claims - report

Malaysiakini : Two Sabah deputy chief ministers and several others have reportedly filed a suit against former attorney-general Tommy Thomas for allegedly mishandling a claim on the state’s territory by descendants of the Sulu sultanate.

According to the report by Free Malaysia Today, they are seeking the court’s declaration that Thomas (above) has committed misfeasance in public office over the matter in his capacity as the federal government’s legal advisor between June 2018 and February 2020.

The suit was filed at the Kota Kinabalu High Court on Aug 16 and the papers were served on Thomas at his law firm in Kuala Lumpur earlier this month, the news portal reported today citing the statement of claim.

“The plaintiffs want an injunction for Thomas to withdraw prejudicial statements and restrain him from making public remarks in relation to an arbitration award issued by Spanish arbitrator Gonzalo Stampa,” the report stated.

Rku020 : What a bunch of losers and frogs the chief being this Jefferi fellow. The country is going south in all important areas and instead of focusing on our future they are playing politics. Hope they lose their deposit in Ge15.

Koel : Slaves will do the masters' bidding for a few pieces of silver. Poor Sabahans. And why were these fellows silent at the pertinent time? Why no voices raised in protest when payments wre stopped?

Newday : What tha? Not suing Najib and Co instead? They are the ones that caused this mess. You symbolise the totally screwed up logic that we seem to be so fond of in Malaysia these days.

WhiteMoose0037 : The screwed politicians from Sabah to take on TT for political mileage. How come they left Mahathir? TT will take them on and make pay for their stupidity.

MerdekaMerdekaMerdeka : “….annual RM5,300 annual payment to the Sulu heirs had been stopped since 2013…” Kitingan, what a swinging bowl! You miss the forest for the trees.

Sue the idiot who called for the pittance of a payment to be stopped, in the first place. That’s how Malaysia ended up in this US$14.92 billion mess, to begin with.

apanama is back : Hello, this is Najib's fault. He was PM at that material time and had the power to do so. You got your priority wrong here!
