No Atheists
In A Foxhole

Rudyard Kipling

" “When you're left wounded on
Afganistan's plains and

the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle

and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur

" “We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”

“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.”
“Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace,
for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .”
“The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.

“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died.
Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Battle for Sg Besar: Intense fight between BN, PN, Harapan By Hariz Mohd
Sunday, November 13, 2022

Malaysiakini : GE15 | Since the Sungai Besar parliamentary seat was created in 2004, the constituency had been an impenetrable fortress for BN. This was up until the 2018 general election, when a political tsunami swept BN to its first-ever electoral defeat, losing many long-held parliamentary seats to Pakatan Harapan.

While BN still managed to garner a significant number of voters to close the gap with Harapan in Sungai Besar, its candidate Budiman Zohdi still lost to Bersatu's Muslimin Yahaya by a razor-thin majority of 714 votes.

Muslimin's victory was largely contributed by votes coming from the 12 polling districts Harapan won out of 28.  For the 15th general election (GE15), BN is betting on Sungai Besar Umno division chief Jamal Md Yunos, a controversial political figure known for his colourful and polarising antics.

But can Jamal wrestle the seat from Muslimin and defeat two other contenders - Harapan’s Saipolyazan Yusop, who is a former Lembaga Zakat Selangor CEO, and Pejuang's Asmawar Samat?

Sungai Besar Umno division chief Jamal Md Yunos, a lying piece of shit

"I am confident that voters will swing back to BN this time around," said Jamal when met during one of his walkabouts in Sungai Besar recently. "Especially after Harapan had only given false hope to its supporters, with many of its promises not kept. Its MP (Muslimin) had even jumped to Perikatan Nasional.

"So, I just want to remind voters that the government that made all kinds of promises during the 22 months and 17 months in power are actually the same people, so I believe the people would know whom they should choose in this election," he added.

The politician, who is famous for his “Red Shirt” movement and for his 2016 water cut protest where he showed up at the Selangor state government office in Shah Alam in 2016 wearing towels, also expressed his confidence that many Chinese voters would return to shore up BN.

This may be a jarring proposition, considering how he is seen nationally as an ultra-Malay figure, leading the counter-rally against Bersih and smashing beer bottles to protest the Better Beer Festival in 2017. However, in response, Jamal said this was merely Harapan propaganda, and that the Chinese community in Sungai Besar know him better.

"The people and voters in Sungai Besar know me better than the outsiders. If you look at BN's victory in Malacca, Johor and Sarawak state elections, the Chinese voters already know whom they want to support.

"I believe that more Chinese voters in Sekinchan and Sungai Besar would support BN this time. I expect the increase (in votes to BN from the Chinese community) would be no less than 15 percent."

Sungai Besar is a constituency in which 68.97 percent of its voters are Malays, followed by Chinese (28.78 percent), Indian (1.98 percent), and others (0.27 percent).

It is made up of two state constituencies - Sungai Panjang which is larger and held by an Umno representative and Sekinchan, which is held by DAP.
