Lebai hiding under the garb of religious piety
Malaysiakini : GE15 | PAS does not intend to
have its candidates declare their assets, like PKR and PSM, because PAS
leaders are not wealthy anyway, the party vice-president Mohd Amar Nik
Abdullah said.
He added making politicians do so will likely bring more harm than good. Amar (above)
said this is a common practice for civil servants and it is unnecessary
to demand the same of PAS leaders unless they hold public office.

executive councillor, then an asset declaration is made to the menteri
besar through a form, and this is not published. “Exposing it to the public may have positive aspects but also
negative in today’s world because sometimes people knowing that we have
money and assets brings a lot of negative implications.
“Thus, we take the approach that we need not declare our assets, especially since PAS leaders usually don’t have many assets. “We'd be embarrassed to declare that since other people have millions to their name,” he told reporters in Kota Bharu today. Nuyiko : Asset declaration is not about showing how rich and poor you are. It is for voter to compare before and after, to see whether you made personal profit from elected duty.
Elected MPs and ADUNs are to serve people without making personal financial gain, they are not Lord or Tuan.
But this concept is too deep for Pas to understand. Hadi Awang once said asset declaration is secular socialist idea that’s incompatible with his religion teaching.

How to talk to these fellows? Can't even understand what is assets declaration of public officers or public servant/MPs.

Let me suggest ONE reform here.
Upon taking over the Putrajaya, Harapan need to amend the Election Act to include a clause that ONLY MP and State Assemblyman/woman who HAD DECLARED his/her assets should stand for Elections.
Assets declaration document should be the main supporting document during the nomination time. Should accompany the nomination paper.
