Muhyiddin a suspect in Jana Wibawa probe – report

Mr Moo

Malaysiakini : Perikatan Nasional chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin was summoned to the MACC to have his statement recorded as a suspect in the Jana Wibawa project probe, according to Berita Harian.

The Malay daily quoted a MACC source who said that Muhyiddin, as a suspect, should refrain from making speculative comments that could interfere with the anti-graft agency's probe.

Yesterday, Muhyiddin said that he was called up by the MACC to facilitate investigations as a witness, not a suspect, over the Jana Wibawa programme for bumiputera contractors under his administration. The Bersatu president also maintained his innocence over claims that he had allegedly misappropriated billions in government funds.

“I explained to the MACC that only the Finance Ministry had the power to approve and select the companies, whereas the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) was involved to suggest names of the companies. The power to approve was not with the PMO.

“I then asked if I were a suspect and would be charged. I was told I’m not a suspect but merely to give explanations to assist with the investigations,” Muhyiddin said yesterday.

JBond : Charge him under Syariah law, then ask him which hand he likes to be chopped. Lebai Marang the same question. Both looted Bolehland when they shut down parliament.

No wonder green wave or green USD probably. Now bank accounts frozen, see upcoming election got green wave some more. Orange wave when both are in those smart uniform.

Clever voter : The stakes are worth billions. It is always worth the gamble. Muhyiddin was the PM, where the buck would begin and end. The amount in question warrants deeper dive, despite the opaque system it is not difficult to find the culprits.

Zafrul involvement would be in numbers, and the public spin he would be good at. Ultimately every one benefitted. From a political perspective, many would stand to lose including Muhyiddin.

It is no wonder they were desperate to hang on to the power, because the hell gate would open once the latch is loosen. Muhyiddin despite of his age, and health should have call it a day but greed has no shelf life!

Knucklehead : Muhyiddin tried to kelentong to us that he was just a witness but truth be told MACC is investigating everyone involved to see how they all benefitted from these schemes disguised under helping bumiputra contractors and cloaked under emergency laws which Bersatu benefitted as seen from their bank accounts.

So called holy PAS to enjoyed this ill-gotten funds during GE15 and together they bought so many votes and called this the Green Wave, konon! Dirty money by dirty politicians and they want us to belive they are pious! Silly voters! The truth will slowly come and and voters can then decide for themselves who conned who and who the holy ones are!

BlueCrab6133 : I have a friend who is a TNB meter reader. Whenever I try to discuss points of law with him, he gets so confused. He is totally unable to comprehend the difference between "witness" and "suspect". Honestly, sometimes I just cannot believe he is that stupid!!! But he is a friend. What to do?

magnanimous46 : Is Maidin stupid or pretending to be stupid as they all are when caught with their pants down? What does it matter even if he was told he was a witness?

A probe into the billions squandered under questionable circumstances is underway. Whatever direction he points his finger as the PM the buck stops with him. So why is he in such a hurry to proclaim himself innocent?

FairMind : The thieves' usual tag line - "helping bumiputra contractors". But when one looks into who are these bumiputra contractors, inevitably they turn out to be either family members or cronies.

He admitted he has the power to recommend these contractors and its up to Zafrul to approve them. Since when contractors are chosen by recommendation by PM and not open tenders?

Both of them are in the same boat together previously and how many contractors appointed by Muhyiddin were disapproved by Zafrul? Is it mere coincidences that rm300 million flowed into Bersatu in a short span of time?

Focusapp : It's money first, Malay second. No difference from other pencuri of his king. All want to think they are different but they belong to the same group. Teach me how to steal and I shall steal for a lifetime.

PurpleKoala5651 : Muhiyiddin admitted he recomended some contractor & he said that is his job!!! He said he has 50 years government experience but can he show which part government procedures PM can get involved in government procurement?! even in recomending contractors for projects??!!
