After double snub, Mahathir's pro-Malay campaign moves online

Malaysiakini : Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's "Malay People's Proclamation" campaign has moved online after venues for planned gatherings by the movement were cancelled twice.

In a statement today, the movement's secretariat said that the online campaign seeks to give awareness to the Malays about the movement's agenda for the race and the country. "This campaign will go on indefinitely so that it reaches all Malays who love the country," the brief statement issued by the movement states.

Also contained in the statement is a QR code, which upon scanning, leads the respondents to a Google Docs Form that claims that the Malays have been marginalised in the country, and deprived of political power.   "The Malays can no longer decide their own fate now, and in the days to come. "This is due to the negligence by Malay leaders, themselves," two of the points listed in the document declared.

It further called on the Malays to put aside their personal and political interests, for the sake of their race. Following the cancellation of the planned gatherings, Mahathir called Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim an "oppressor" and he also accused the government of being behind the cancellations.

Mahathir, however, did not provide any proof to back his claims.

Mazilamani : If a product has a bad reputation , however well it is repackaged the sales will continue to remain the same. Mahathir has his niche market among those into their sixties and seventies of age unfamiliar with online facilities.

Those into their fifties know well enough about Mahathir for they have lived through his political time and know the mess created. There is no revival for Mahathir, except an endless ride on the slide. If he can be rejected in Langkawi he will continue being rejected all over again.

Hearty Malaysian : Dr M is just a bad looser who cannot admit his own faults for the abject failures of NEP despite it started since 1971 and then continue under various name until now. Was Dr M sleeping on the job in his first stint as PM for 22 years?

NEP has enriched a group of elite Malays beyond imagination. He is just shouting to be noticed again at all costs to the national harmony after being trashed in GE 15 and not welcome by many people lately.

A big No! Just because the malays in Langkawi have snubbed you badly, so much so that you had lost your deposit, it does not earn you a right to rant rubbish! That Langkawi result should have sent you to a long overdue final retirement in politics!

Fancy this, while Anwar cruised smoothly in Tambun, a relatively new area…you pulak failed miserably in your own den! 😄. Yes, the malays actually marginalised YOU!
