Malaysiakini : PARLIAMENT | A deputy minister had some simple advice for a PAS MP who raised a fuss about an upcoming event featuring buff male performers in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah, Sarawak, and Special Functions) Ugak Kumbong told Ahmad Fadhli Shaari (Perikatan Nasional-Pasir Mas) that the latter should simply avoid such events. “The Malaysia Madani framework is to follow up with the people at all ministries.

“With such agendas, programmes (for this club), don’t go there lah YB,” he said in the Dewan Rakyat.   Fadhli had wanted to know if the “Thai Hot Guy” performance - which features strapping male performers wearing lingerie - at a nightclub in Kuala Lumpur fits the Malaysia Madani framework.

The event slated for March 30 has incited strong objections as being insensitive to Muslims and Malaysian values, particularly as it coincides with Ramadan. Ugak, however, said the government had nothing to do with such events.

“Malaysia Madani would not continue with such unhealthy programmes because Malaysia is multiracial and multireligious.
