Malaysiakini : The Kelantan Islamic Religious Affairs Department (Jaheik) has issued warnings against seven men for failing to observe Islamic modesty rules by wearing shorts that exposed their thighs.

Jaheik enforcement division deputy director Mohd Fadzuli Mohd Zain said the men were found during a joint operation with the Tanah Merah District Council (MDTM), the Tanah Merah District Health Office, and the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) last Friday.

He said that the individuals, aged from their teens to their twenties, were at a shop in Tanah Merah at the time of the incident. “The operation was carried out after receiving public complaints regarding a shisha business at the location.

OCT : This is the way of life when religious rules is supreme. Good and logical thinking are non existence. When everyone is making progress to live a comfortable life, there are always others who prefer otherwise. There is no science, progress and changes in a religious world.

Everything is mandated according to rules in the old world. It is not about living for today but live in the next world. A sensible person will do otherwise. Let Kelantanese enjoy their religious world as this is their choice. When the Kelantanese wants to change, they will do so.

The rest can live in a vibrant new world, full of joy and happiness and not be controlled by irrational parties whom they enjoy the sins while others cannot.

Malays in my younger days wore sarong, man and woman. And boys run under the hot sun in kampong or beach or field wearing short pants. Where have society moved..back to the past to build its future.
