Man hurt in stray dog operation probed for obstructing govt officials

Malaysiakini : An elderly man who was allegedly injured by Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) enforcement officers during an operation to capture stray dogs is now being investigated for obstructing government officials from carrying out their duties.

The incident, which occurred at Taman Kanagapuram in Petaling Jaya, was captured on video and had since gone viral.

In a statement, district police chief Fakhrudin Hamid said the man had closed the gates to his premises with the stray dogs inside when the officers were attempting to catch the canines following complaints.

"The operation team failed to catch the stray dogs because they were blocked by the man.

Koel : So the senior citizen within his own premises was "accidentally hit" by an iron rod, was he? What sort of crap is this? Can we have some clarity on this please? Can some card carrying clown claiming to be working for mbpj force his way into our private premises?

I think we have a cause to be concerned because this is opening the door to anyone with fake ID being able to enter people's homes or business premises. And even if they are legit, can mbpj force its way into our homes? I would like the MP and the aduns for the area step up to assure people that such high handed actions are not permitted under the law.

And what is mbpj doing to immediately suspend this idiot who hit a senior citizen with an iron rod - a citizen who is also a ratepayer who pays the worker and the council their wages. This is unbelievable arrogance from a council that should show humility and accountability to ratepayers. This is not the way to go about it.

Betul Malu bukan Maluapa : Can the PJ District Police Chief explained how Workers frim MBPJ can illegally enter someone's compound without a Court Order..that is Trespassing and assaulting the Owner which is another offence..Please get your priorities right PDRM..

Watchdog : The old man accidentally hit his face onto the rod. Case closed

DonGetMeWrong : What about stray cats? It is only fair that local councils should double up both role to catch stray dogs and cats. Cats do cause nuisance to public too. It shows they are biased as dogs are considered haram but not cats. It is more of a religious unfair treatment
