India, Poonch terror attack : Locals carry out candle march to commemorate soldiers

Residents of Poonch held a candle march on April 25 in commemoration of the brave heart soldiers who laid their life for the country in the heinous act carried out by terrorists in the Bhata Dhurian area of Poonch district on April 20.

Five soldiers lost their lives and one was reported as critically injured in the incident. Terrorists used armour-piercing bullets and grenades to target an army vehicle in which soldiers were carrying iftaari (meals for breaking fast) for the locals.

After five Indian Army personnel were killed in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Thursday, a massive search operation has been launched by security forces to nab the terrorists behind the attack.

According to reports, dense forests are becoming a struggle to carry out the manhunt. According to Defense Sources, the Indian Army has launched multiple special forces teams along with drones and surveillance helicopters who are carrying out search and destroy ops in the suspected area.

The security forces including the Army, Police, and Intelligence Agencies are coordinating the operations, reports stated.
