Kargil War - Why it happened? - Real Story of Vikram Batra also known as Shershaah with English subtitles

The Kargil War was a defining moment in the peace talks between India and Pakistan. But why did the Kargil conflict start? What role did Captain Vikram Batra AKA Shershaah play in the conflict and why is he considered a hero? I'll be explaining the sequence of events and geopolitics of Kargil in this mini documentary. You’ll also learn about the Battle of Tololing and mission of point 5140 here.

My grandfather Tafazul Hussain Khan lost his life in Kargil war saving his motherland, feel so proud being a grand son of Indian army officer. My Friend's Father also lost his life in Kargil war. My friend was just 1 month old. Her father had seen her only once. She says she's proud of her father. She and her mother is doing absolutely fine. Bless them.

My own Maternal uncle ‘Major Manoj Talwar’ fought the war fearlessly. He was given the task of commanding his troops and to capture Point 5765 which was 19000 feet above at Turtuk. This top is now known as ‘Talwar top’ and the bunker is also named ‘Talwar Bunker’. Major Talwar was selected in both NDA and AFMC pune but he chose NDA over AFMC.

He was posted at a peaceful area during the war but he shifted his posting to Siachen and voluntarily participated in the war. His junior was supposed to lead the troop but he insisted that he should be allowed to lead his troop and handle the enemy up front. This war was won only due to the bravery ,commitment and compassion of our soldiers.

Apart from Capt Batra there were many other unsung heroes and their stories deserve to be told.
