Kelantan MB asks mosques, people to hold prayers to end hot spell

Malaysiakini : The Kelantan government has urged mosques and surau in the state to hold solat hajat (prayers of need) for rain, amid the scorching hot weather there.

In a statement today, Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob (above) said that the prolonged hot spell that is expected to last until August has caused drought and damaged crops in the state. "I would like to urge the people of Kelantan to pray to Allah and hold solat hajat in their respective homes.

"Imams should also hold prayers in mosques and surau to pray for rain for the benefit of all," he said. "Hopefully with such efforts, God Almighty will send His Mercy to all of us by giving rain and refreshing the Earth."

Two days ago, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued a Level 1 alert for several areas, where temperatures could rise up to 35 to 37 degrees Celsius.

Patriot Malaya : Scorched by heat, downed by floods, air karat for drinking water. Yup keep denying climate change and vote PAS. Eventually it should work right?

apanama is back : Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob, prayers will NOT end the dry spell. "Hati mau bersih." You people are misusing the religion. Why ride Mercedes while your state is lack of clean water? Behaving as holy but your state is being punished.

Knucklehead : When taps run dry, pray!

No need for infrastructure, just pray!

When MB and Aduns need new Mercedes Benz, just use rakyat's money, no need to pray, money is there, just use it. When no water to drink, bath or wash the Mercedes Benz, pray! So go pray............

No need government, no need budget, no need infrastructure, no need civil servants, all you need is Pray. Such a beautiful state. God Bless Kelantanese.

#PrayForWater

KickOutPASandPN : Hahahahahaha, by right the Kelantan government should urged mosques and surau in the state to hold solat hajat (prayers of need) for clean water instead of dirty water everyday.

Me : Becareful what you pray for, you might end up with a tsunami or massive floods, which you are cursed with almost every year!!!

Four of the places are in Kelantan, namely Jeli, Kuala Krai, Pasir Mas, and Tanah Merah.
