Men VS Women In Combat Sports

I was Marine infantry from 2006-12, so hopefully I can shed light on the whole pull-up thing: most guys in my unit could do an average of 12-16 pull-ups, with the stockier guys (usually the machine gunners and mortarmen) doing fewer, and the riflemen and assaultmen ( like myself) usually able to do more.

Of course you have your "pt studs" and "light-bodies" in every section, but if a guy could do 20 pullups or more, chances are he was a rifleman or assaultman. Additionally, when i went through boot camp there was a recruit that (even by the end of boot camp) he couldn't do 3 pullups.

But he had an Intel MOS and got a waiver, but honestly, i don't give a fuck he couldn't do pull-ups. The Corps needs nerds just as much as it needs grunts, and when i was in Iraq in '08 I'm glad we had the squints with us. All that being said, women shouldn't be in combat roles unless they can meet the same criteria as the men.

If they can put out, very well and oorah to them, but if they can't, lives might be needlessly endangered
