Malaysiakini : COMMENT | Yes, finally after many attempts, Umno Youth leader Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh got his two minutes of fame and infamy that came after it.

Two years ago, at the Umno general assembly, he called party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi a “political dinosaur” but did not have the gall and gumption to stand up and be counted. Instead, he meekly apologised.

Subsequently, he was full of praise saying: “Personally, I made a general Facebook post about political dinosaurs. Honestly, the posting was not referring to Zahid but I was informed that he was slighted.”  

Last September, he was again in the news by posting a three-minute video that went viral on social media It showed Akmal was seen chastising a rice wholesaler who allegedly refused to sell local rice with a price set at RM26 for 10kg.

It got little or no traction but it did not stop him from wading into the bak kut teh issue which resulted in Tourism Minister Tiong King Sing schooling him on the dish last month.

In asking Akmal to stop “racist extreme politics”, Tiong told him that if he did not know the meaning of “bak kut teh”, he should have checked the dictionary before embarrassing himself, his party, his race, and the country.

DonGetMeWrong : Why Islam need to be defended by mortals? Isn't the Almighty the creator of the universe? Does He need protection from His creation? Islam the only religion that needs to be protected. How ironic?

ScarletViper9930 : It's actually arrogance on the part of adherents to defend God.They put themselves above Him who has no equal.Because only the stronger can defend the weaker,is that not so?

OCT : It is very clear that 2R cannot be prosecuted for insulting other religions. This is one of the main reasons why they can keep on insulting other religions as if they are above the law. To-date no 2R has been prosecuted, fined and jailed for insulting other religions.

However, NM has been prosecuted to the fullest of the law for any complaints made against, no matter whether it was a mistake, error or poor judgment. This was carried out swiftly, efficiently and no need to refer to AGC as the case of the recent two NM being arrested and sentenced.

PDRM is the culprit that shows discrimination when religious matters are implicated. PDRM acted swiftly on one side but buat bodoh for the 2R side. The Govt pretends nothing happens as it will affect their stability. Malaysians have to live with it.

It would destroy the peace, harmony and integrity of Malaysia eventually. No two ways about it. No investors would come and those already here will relocate when religious matters are supreme over constitution and criminal laws.
