Malaysiakini : Former Klang MP Charles Santiago has urged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to convene an emergency parliamentary session on the atrocities affecting Palestinians in Rafah.

In a statement, Charles said Anwar must demand that United Nations member states call for an immediate ceasefire, stop arms sales to Israel and enforce the International Court of Justice’s arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu through Interpol.

“We, you, me and institutions need to put pressure on the United States and Israel to stop the massacre. Otherwise, we will have blood on our hands,” he said. Charles’ statement came after alarming images of mutilated Palestinian babies surfaced on social media following Israel’s attack in Rafah.

According to a report by BBC, at least 45 people, including women and children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a camp for displaced Palestinians in the southern Gaza city of Rafah yesterday.

OCT : Charles thinks our Parliament can solve the Palestinians problems when the world power cannot even do it. This is a syiok sendiri syndrome. It will end up as futile and waste of time. When October 7 past year happened, there was no demand for Parliament sitting to condemn Hamas.

Gaza is designated a war zone. There will endless deaths and casualties. Just like Ukraine war, nobody is doing anything. Gaza war will end when Hamas released the hostages but Hamas cannot do it as most or all hostages are dead. Charles, there are internal problems to solve but you are doing that.

You are becoming like PMX who had gone round the world to announce his support for Hamas. In the end, nobody listened to him. Take care of your own house first before caring for someone who doesn't even know you or appreciate your kindness.

World Citizen : Mr. Charles Santiago, it is indeed heartbreaking to see these sufferings by Palestinian civilians. I refuse to see these images in the news anymore and also the torturing of Israeli women and the elderly held hostage by Hamas.

However, since our dear PM in his recent meeting with the Hamas leaders has asked Hamas to release the hostages and stop this fighting, has Hamas done anything about it? This terrible tragedy will end the moment Hamas releases the hostages and surrenders the perpetrators of the October 7 massacre to Israel.
