Polygamy is dangerous. King David had the responsibility to punish Amon for this violation. The culprit being his son does not exempt him from punishment.
This same situation happened to the prophet Eli when he failed to discipline his sons from disrespecting God, all three died. Eli's sons died in battle and he broke his neck, making Samuel his replacement.
Had David had shown his daughter respect and justice, a lot of his problems could have been avoided. Not giving justice to his daugther was worse than murdering that guy to hide his adultery. If David would have taken care of this right from the start like a good father, it would not have gone this far.
And if David would have been paying attention, he should have noticed what Amnon was up to. I despise Amnon. This sheds light on the atrocities committed against women in the hands of men who are meant to be their protectors. Often they're trivialized with fathers failing to deal decisively with such indiscipline in their own homes.
I pray for all women in Tamar's positionNothing much on why Absalom was angry at his brother Amnon. Tamar's story, even the bible, doesn't seem to pay much attention to it, not even her pain. The community, doesn't show their fury against Amnon for violating his sister, instead, she is judged and condemned for a crime she didn't commit.
