Several reports have emerged that show that a US Military C-17 aircraft landed in Afghanistan’s Bagram Airbase this week. The C-17 offloaded military equipment and senior intelligence officials including the CIA deputy chief.

. Taliban have denied reports that they have handed over the Bagram airbase to the United States. This comes amid Trump’s claims of wanting to retake the Bagram airbase as it remains a strategic airstrip to counter China and Iran. Taliban took control of the airbase in 2021 after the US military made an exit from Afghanistan. After decades of fighting, why is Taliban working to normalise relations with the US?
