Bangladesh is witnessing heightened tensions as protests intensify over the verdict of Sheikh Hasina's political trial. The Awami League, led by Information Minister Mohammad Ali Arafat, has condemned the proceedings as politically motivated and warned of nationwide unrest if the court's decision goes against Hasina.
Sheikh Hasina is a role model for development. Yunus is a murderer. Yunus will be tried.Speaking exclusively to Firstpost, Arafat defended the former prime minister's record and criticised what he called foreign interference and judicial bias. He emphasised that the people of Bangladesh would not accept a verdict that undermines democracy or the rule of law. As the country braces for the judgment, questions loom over stability, governance and the future of Hasina's political legacy.
