Malaysiakini : Former DAP aide Teoh Beng Hock’s sister, Lee Lan, will travel to Geneva next March to present her late brother’s case to the UN Human Rights Council.
In a statement, the Teoh Beng Hock Association for Democratic Advancement said Lee Lan will also “condemn the Madani government for dereliction of duty in the case and for its failure to effectively safeguard his fundamental human rights”.
The association noted that despite Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim publishing a book themed around “justice and reform”, his administration has clearly strayed from both principles in handling Beng Hock’s case.
Veteran 1972 : Boycott, PMX's Book, it's bloody hypocritical if you buy or read his book. Only Palestinians are entitled to justice, care two hoots for Malaysians killed by institutions that are supposed to uphold the law!
Vijay47 : I agree with every word expressed on behalf of Teoh Beng Hock’s sister, Lee Lan. The statement reflects the Teoh Family’s shock and disbelief, pain and sorrow, over the hypocrisy of the Madani Government and especially its leader Anwar Ibrahim who believes that pious writings on human rights, mercy and compassion, will somehow convince a nation lost in despair and betrayal.
The fast-eroding contempt that people hold for him can be noted in the tone of statements condemning the Madani head. Albert Tei openly challenged Anwar Ibrahim’s prancing around attempting to show that he is committed on eradicating corruption, and now the petition from Lee Lan revealing his fake strutting about, trying to display that he is a pillar of the human rights of all Malaysians.
You must realise and accept, Anwar Ibrahim, that race and religion don’t wash any more, that all Malaysians have long reached the end of their tether where your promises and pledges are concerned. But yes, the riff-raff from the edges of the cesspool will arise to support you. For them race and religion count for everything, not honour and decency, accountability and justice.
And you can be proud of them. Madam Lee Lan, like most Malaysians, let me wish you all the best in your mission to the United Nations, not that they need to be reminded of the shameful goings-on in this country.
Read it all here......They must be fully aware not only of Teoh Beng Hock’s unexplained death but also the sad circumstances of so many events involving other unfortunates. Perhaps in your Petition, Madam, you can also include that miserable Home Affairs Minister and the Inspector General of Police.
