What German Soldiers Said When They First Fought Gurkhas

German soldiers were absolutely terrified when they first encountered the legendary Gurkha warriors on the World War 2 battlefield. These fearless Nepalese fighters, fighting for the British Army with their iconic kukri knives, earned a reputation that struck fear into the hearts of Nazi troops across multiple fronts.

Discover the shocking reactions and accounts from German soldiers who faced these elite mountain warriors in combat, and learn why the Gurkhas became one of the most feared fighting forces of WWII.Gurkhas are smiling assassins; polite, respectful, highly disciplined, unbelievably fit and unrelentingly ferocious.

It is right to consider them elite troops. I was a manager of factory at a remote district in India. The area had a lot of communist insurgency. These bands used to come and collect donations at gun point. We were attacked only once. Our security guard was a 17 year old Gurkha.

When the communists came all the factory staff, about 20, ran away leaving the Gurkha and me alone to face the attackers. This 17 year old stood in front of me, drawing his kukri, he told the leader , if one of you touches my manager, I will kill all of you. Go away and never come back. They did and we were never attacked again.

The Gurkhas are unbelievably brave and loyal.
