COMMENT | Since the so-called Sabah slap, DAP operatives have been going on a performative spree. DAP MPs have been busy demonstrating that they are taking the government to task, especially when it comes to issues affecting non-bumiputera.

Not only is it performative, but it is also rather comical.

I think the apogee of the DAP kowtowing to Madani was the complete silence by the DAP youth and sports minister when the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM)/International Federation of Association Football (Fifa) scandal was playing out, and then the fait accompli “clutch my pearls” statements from the minister when it was obvious that the dust was not settling.

Existential Turd :People fault DAP not because it failed to steer the UG towards reform, but because it didn't do anything. They would have earned tremendous respect and goodwill had they tried, but failed and most likely, paid the price themselves; like the PJ councilors as chronicled by Nadeswaran. 

But instead, what we got was cowardly acquiescence. By not fighting for the people's rights and concerns, no matter who they are, they became the enabler of Malaysia's downfall towards autocracy. What is the point of giving them the power to govern, when they willingly keel over and hand it to the people who hold the exact opposite of their ideals? 

As the adage goes, if you want to see a person's true character, give him/her power and wealth. Anyone can be a hero in adversity. A true test of character is when they are in power. For the past few election cycles, DAP provides the reform credentials to whomever they partner with, but alas it is only a facade. 

Instead of uplifting their partners, they wallow in their depravity. From now on, DAP should not be judged on a higher standards, they should be judged and expected to behave just as UMNO or MCA, i.e. two-face and speaking with fork tongue.

Deadwood in the government ought to be sacked. Inefficient officers ought to be replaced, including Ministers, iGP, AG, MACC, vice chancellors of Universities. Have an ombudsman to look into unfair and unjust practices .
