"They Didn’t Blink" — Viet Cong Survivor Describes Australian SAS In Vietnam

That's me, with my back towards the camera, Major Razak Che Awang is looking on at the GOC who is having a chat with Cpl Benet Barong, on his left is Lt Col Mark Evans CO of 6 RAR. Right most is Brigadier Peter Cosgrove

This video tells the true story of a Viet Cong patrol that vanished without a firefight — and the Australian SAS unit responsible. Told from the perspective of survivors and enemy testimony, it reveals how small SAS patrols turned the jungles of Phuoc Tuy Province into a psychological battlefield where fear did more damage than firepower.

The PTSD of many Australians was exacerbated by the reception they received upon returning. There were protests whenever they arrived. They were portrayed as "child killers" and vilified by the leftists and media. Similar to what ICE is experiencing in Minnesota. Shame the Aussies weren't bigger in number and given more vital area like the parrots beak or fishook or border places like A Shau valley..Those hot bed places could have done with that different take and doctrine on the war...

I have trained with the Aussies, they were good, very good.
