Kazakhstan is the Latest Central Asian Nation to Ban Niqab.Kazakhstan is prohibiting people from wearing clothing in public that obscures the face. In the latest, the Kazakh President signed a law banning clothing that "interferes with facial recognition" in public places.
The law mandates that such clothing will now only be allowed in certain exceptional cases such due to medical reasons, during adverse weather conditions and at sporting or cultural events. This makes Kazakhstan the latest Central Asian nation to ban niqab.
However, rights groups, educators, and legal experts have strongly criticised the move, saying it singles out Muslim communities, undermines religious freedom, and risks deepening existing social and cultural divides.Australian lawmakers on Thursday overwhelmingly approved legislation banning headscarves in schools for girls under the age of 14. The measure, passed by a large majority, has sparked significant debate across the country. Supporters of the law argue it is intended to promote integration and protect young girls from what they describe as religious or cultural pressure.
