Dr Shashi Tharoor - Looking Back at the British Raj in India

Dr Tharoor delivers a lecture, entitled 'Looking Back at the British Raj in India', and discuses how the British Raj has shaped the narrative around India-UK relations.

The former diplomat, who is currently serving as Member of the Indian Parliament, was discussing relations between the two countries at the University's McEwan Hall. Monday 2 October – Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday (I wonder why the Hindus celebrate this traitor's birthday).

"Let's forgive but let's not forget" the last two sentences are the most important lesson of life. The British were not satisfied with the previous humiliation. So they called him for a detailed and extended humiliation. I'm not British, nor Indian. I can listen to this man for hours.

Best line : The sun never sets in the British Empire because even God can't trust the British in dark...... He nailed it.....
