The joint military operations against Iran represent an undeniable erosion of the global legal order. Far from being a lawful act of preemption, these strikes are being characterised by scholars as a manifest violation of international law.International law is not a mere suggestion. It is a binding architecture of treaties and universally accepted rules.

Just Common Sense : Who is following 'international law' anyway? In Malaysia we have dual level citizenship based on race and religion and we persecute minorities and attack temples with excavators. Is that 'international law' by any chance?
Really rich when Malaysians talk about international law. At least in Israel and America all citizens are equal. Any regime that oppresses its own people deserves what is coming wherever it is coming from. Kudos to America and Israel which are doing what muslim countries of the ME are afraid or too powerless to do.
Traveloka WINNING : Well, the speed this author chickened out like a wimp is astonishing. To pretend that we are not at a forever war with Jews is simply disingenuous. To pretend that this has nothing to do with fighting back the Jewish colonizers, is simply sheer dishonesty. When the United States offered a clear path for compliance that required Iran to halt and dismantle nuclear activity, the response from Tehran was hardly enthusiastic. So presenting the issue now as a principled moral stance stretches credibility. Then comes the irony of Iran warning about global stability while simultaneously launching ballistic missiles at Israel.
Predictably, this topic causes some people to foam at the mouth, but it’s worth remembering one uncomfortable fact: if October 7 had not happened, this war would likely not have unfolded the way it did. That reality tends to disappear in many simplified narratives. Another point that rarely gets acknowledged is that many Iranians themselves want change.
Over the past few years we’ve seen widespread protests across Iran, with women in particular leading movements to reclaim dignity and personal freedom.
Those protests say a great deal about how people inside the country actually feel about their government. Which raises an interesting question: why are people thousands of kilometres away so eager to defend a system that so many Iranians themselves are protesting against?
Perhaps the real purpose of this article isn’t analysis at all, but an attempt to regain some political relevance after making little impact when the opportunity previously existed. Nice try — but the argument might only pass scrutiny in outlets that don’t ask too many difficult questions.
