How India Resisted the Islamic Invasion for 500 Years

Not even five hundred years had passed when Hindus halted the advance of the Muslim invaders

How did one of history’s fastest-expanding empires struggle for centuries in India? This animated historical explainer traces the long resistance faced by early Islamic imperial expansion—from the Arab invasions of Sindh and the stubborn frontier kingdoms of Kabul and Zabul, to the repeated raids of Mahmud of Ghazni and the later campaigns of Muhammad Ghuri.

Drawing from Sita Ram Goel’s Heroic Hindu Resistance to Muslim Invaders, the video explores the battles, rulers, and strategies that shaped nearly five centuries of conflict on the northwestern frontier of the Indian subcontinent. Figures such as Raja Dahir, Jaypal, Anandpal, Vidyadhar Chandela, and Prithviraj Chauhan appear in a narrative of prolonged resistance, shifting tactics, and political fragmentation.

The story highlights how geography, regional alliances, warfare strategies, and political decisions influenced the outcome of these struggles.
