Malaysiakini : COMMENT | There is a strange political metamorphosis that occurs when opposition leaders cross over into power. It is not ideological, but almost… dermatological. The thick skin they once wore with pride is suddenly replaced by an allergic reaction to criticism.
In the opposition, criticism is oxygen, and politicians rely on it to attack incumbents, build credibility as reformers, gain visibility, and connect with the rakyat’s frustration.
As soon as they become the government, criticism becomes carbon monoxide and the same issues are perceived as something to be contained or eliminated, often considered toxic, dangerous and destabilising.
Thus, criticism that is fuel for political survival and embraced as accountability when in the opposition turns into a perceived threat to political control once in power and is often recast as disruption.
BlueCougar1744 : As Opposition leader who promised reforms are now in a fix when he now helms the role of a PM and when questioned why he insists on reserving 90% for Bumiputra Higher Education entrance, he claimed that by reducing the 90% to lower at 70%, the Government will be push over and immediately taken over by PAS and the opposition draws huge resentment from students and all over for the Non Muslim communities.
On one hand he claimed to be the Father for all, Malays, Chinese, Indians, Ibans, Kadazans and the various ethnic groups, but what he does speaks otherwise. Malaysians expect him to lead with reforms promised and not to hear excuses. Does that mean that if 100% is allocated to only Bumiputras, he will again be elected to be PMXI?
I beg to differ. As it is, majority of our MM Brethren do not trust him. I would say easily 80%. The NM supported him and PH at 85% but now, he could hardly garner 10% support. So, where will he be after GE16? I have a strong believe, he is riding on a tiger. The moment he comes down mounting the tiger, he will be mauled.
Read it all here........Lots of dirt will hit the ceiling fan and opposition will line up investigation and charges that we see that coming. Why must he enter this vicious cycle when he knows that Malaysians will no longer tolerate such nonsense. GE 16 will be a game changer and we hope to see more new faces to take on the current regime.
