On August 6, 1945, the course of human conflict changed forever. This documentary explores the top-secret Manhattan Project, the engineering and ethical challenges of building the world's first atomic weapon, and the desperate decision to use it.
J. Robert Oppenheimer, the "father of the atomic bomb", famously quoted: "Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." The quote comes from the Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 11, Verse 32), a 700-verse Hindu scripture.Follow the journey of the B-29 Enola Gay as it delivers "Little Boy" to Hiroshima, and witness the devastating aftermath of the blast that brought WW2 to an end. It was the hardest choice of the war: drop the bomb and save countless lives from a costly invasion, or risk a prolonged, bloody war in the Pacific.
