The Fighting Rangers On War, Politics and Burning Issues
Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Tajuddin Mohd Rasdi expresses deep sorrow over the situation of Siti
Bandorah Mahalil, the widow of a fallen police officer who is facing
eviction from her home in Semporna, Sabah.
Tajuddin,
who has written to the Home Minister about the issue, calls for
solidarity and compassion, urging Malaysians to honour the memory of
Siti Bandorah's late husband, a police officer who sacrificed his life
during the 2013 Royal Sulu Army intrusion.
Tajuddin
Mohd Rasdi expressed deep sorrow upon learning about the plight of Siti
Bandorah Mahalil and her children, who are facing eviction from their
home in Semporna, Sabah.
“Police
sergeant Abd Azis Sarikon gave his life defending this nation during
the 2013 Royal Sulu Army intrusion. Yet, his widow not only endures the
loss of her husband but now faces the prospect of losing her home and
has been verbally abused by police personnel.
“No Malaysian should
be subjected to such indignity, least of all the widow of a fallen
hero,” the professor of architecture told Malaysiakini.
Tajuddin (above),
whose late father served as a police officer, revealed that he had
written to Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, who has promised to
look into the matter.
Yesterday, Malaysiakinireported that Siti Bandorah’s home in Kampung Alab - a water village in Pulau Bodgaya - was among the areas marked for demolition.
She
alleged that police personnel berated her in front of her children,
causing her to feel contempt for the very uniform she once cherished.
“As
the son of a police officer, I remember the many days of waiting for my
father to come home and, as a boy, wondering what kind of gun he would
bring back,” Tajuddin recalled.
“But back then, I did not
understand my mother’s anguish as she wondered if her husband - the
father of her six children - would return home alive each time he left
for work.
“Our family was more fortunate than Siti Bandorah’s. Her
husband left for work but returned as a lifeless body. Now, despite his
ultimate sacrifice, the home that shelters his family faces
dismantlement,” he added.
‘My heart sank’
Tajuddin
shared how his initial high spirits, after receiving an invitation to a
Christian Federation of Malaysia event at the Full Gospel Tabernacle
church in Petaling Jaya, plummeted upon reading about Siti Bandorah’s
ordeal.
“My heart sank. I cannot feel right as a Malaysian, a Muslim, or a human being knowing she is treated in this manner.
“We
should be her guardians. We should honour the memory and spirit of her
late husband, a hero who gave his life for our nation,” he said.
“If
ever there is an opportune time to show our humanity and sense of
nationhood, it is now. God has brought her plight to our attention
during this time of Christmas.
“Let us pray for her deliverance from this hardship so that her late husband may rest in peace,” he added.According
to a notice issued by Sabah Parks to the villagers, their homes are set
to be demolished for allegedly encroaching into the Tun Sakaran Marine
Park.
JBond : Foreigners like Hamas get help but our fallen hero’s family gets eviction. What kind of value are we inculcating in a young mind?? She there is no points to score politically, you will be ignored no matter how much you or your family have contributed to the country. The politicians are only interested in their own political future.
Athies : anwar burst out saying where is "our" human compassion when he brought in the ungrateful palestinians... but now his "anak" is being evicted from their home and he remains silent even after the learned professor wrote to the home ministry!!
Clearly shows what a hypocrite anwar is!!!
segamatdoc85 : "God has brought her plight to us during this time of Christmas."
We the Rakyat may have different cultures, different upbringing and different Gods (in the case of us Buddhist, a whole pantheon), but in times of need, we see each other only as Malaysians, and rally together for our fellow Malaysians in need.
Not like some cartoon PM who so sayang another country (whose populace come to ours and buat hal) and is hell-bent on Islamising our country. Or some dumba55 unelected youth leader who loves to play with katanas and play up racial hatred over a pair of socks.
