Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Bruised by Johor defeat, DAP marches towards N Sembilan frontline with lessons learned
Tuesday, July 14, 2026
Malaysiakini : After its dismal performance in the Johor state election, DAP has
pledged to learn from the bitter setback as it heads into another
electoral battle in neighbouring Negeri Sembilan, where it holds 11
seats, including the constituency of its secretary-general Anthony Loke.
In
a statement this afternoon, the party’s central executive committee
(CEC) acknowledged that a political party cannot judge itself, as this
is in the hands of voters. “DAP will listen more closely,
strengthen constituency services and improve how we communicate and
govern. We carry the lessons from Johor into Negeri Sembilan with
humility, discipline and the determination to work harder.
“Johor
has delivered its message. We will learn from it. In Negeri Sembilan, we
will continue to fight positively to secure a fresh mandate and
continue a stable, moderate administration that serves all,” the CEC
said. Emphasising
that every vote received represents trust while every vote lost serves
as a sign and a signal, the CEC said it had identified policy,
political, organisational and communication issues that require further
attention.
Pray that this betrayer/traitor Anthony Loke steps down
For
Negeri Sembilan, which will go to the polls on Aug 1, the CEC said it
would defend its seats with eight incumbents and three new faces. “We
enter this election as part of the incumbent state government, with a
record of administration, experience and a team ready to receive the
mandate to govern once again.
“Our campaign in Negeri Sembilan
will be positive and forward-looking. We will highlight the state
government’s achievements, development plans, solutions to the people’s
concerns and candidates capable of serving. “We want voters to
make their choice based on track records, policies and the future of
Negeri Sembilan, not divisive politics,” it added. Loke, who is also the Negeri Sembilan DAP chairperson, will defend his Chennah constituency, which he has held since 2013.
Silver lining
Yesterday, Malaysiakini’s analysis of voting trends from the 15th general election found that in a straight fight, BN could unseat Loke if PAS throws its support behind the coalition. The
36-seat state legislative assembly comprises BN (14 seats), DAP (11),
PKR (five), PAS (three), Bersatu (two) and Amanah (one).
Reflecting on the Johor election, the CEC said the outcome
was not what the party had hoped for, as its representation was reduced
from 10 seats to six, but it also saw a silver lining in the number of
votes it received.
“The
support we received was not broad or balanced enough to retain four
decisive seats. We accept the responsibility to understand, address and
improve from this. “After a prolonged period of multi-cornered
contests, support for our challengers consolidated behind a smaller
number of candidates. In this far more challenging landscape, DAP
retained six of its 10 incumbent seats.
“Across those 10 seats,
DAP candidates received 226,592 votes, compared with 159,769 votes in
2022. The increase in total votes does not negate the loss of four
seats. However, it shows that DAP still has a strong support base to
defend, expand and translate into victories,” it added.
47AK : The Johor defeat should be a wake-up call. If DAP is marching towards the Negeri Sembilan frontline, it must first learn the right lessons.
The elected representatives, both MPs, and their political secretaries must be humble, approachable, and genuinely people-friendly. Public service is not reserved only for party supporters. They were elected to represent everyone, regardless of which party they voted for or the colour of their skin.
Arrogance, selective service, and political favoritism will only alienate voters. Respect, fairness, and equal treatment are what people expect from those entrusted with public office. If these lessons are ignored, Johor may not be the last setback.“
World Citizen : DAP will get another drubbing in NS because it is the same old same old. They cannot do much within the next 2 weeks. There is a suggestion for the party. DAP should put up a new leadership team ahead of their national convention in August this year. Show to the electorate in NS what this new team will do once elected by the party.
No more Anthony Loke and his cronies who have failed its supporters over and over again. They were shown a hard lesson in Sabah but the party did nothing to change. Now they got another big slap in the face in Johor but still nothing. So you either wait for another humiliation or do something drastic.
apanama is back : First things first, DAP, you need to kick out Anthony Loke because a fish rots from the head down. To save the body (DAP), you need to chop off the head (Loke). The buck stops with Loke!
catmandoo : Yup, Uncle Tom has to go. He can be a ground operator but he is certainly not a LKS.
