No Atheists
In A Foxhole

Rudyard Kipling

" “When you're left wounded on
Afganistan's plains and

the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle

and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur

" “We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”

“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.”
“Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace,
for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .”
“The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.

“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died.
Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Ramkarpal wants DAP to make clear they can leave govt if Putrajaya crosses 'red line'
Friday, August 14, 2026

Malaysiakini : Ramkarpal Singh has urged DAP to make clear to delegates at its annual congress this Sunday that they can still call for the party to leave the government in future if it crosses their "red line".

According to the DAP deputy secretary-general, this must be emphasised to avoid giving the impression that a vote for DAP to remain in government means the party would stay on even when doing so is detrimental to its interests.

"One such detrimental instance that comes to my mind would be if Umno insists on seeking a pardon and eventual release of its convicted former president, Najib Abdul Razak. "Whether or not this crosses the red line, so to speak, should be something open for delegates to think about, and they should be free to elect to leave the government in such circumstances, even if they vote to remain in government.

Vijay47 : Ramkarpal Singh, it is sad that a person of Karpal Singh’s lineage would continue to disregard the elephant in the room. You suggest a firm DAP stand should Anwar Ibrahim and his government “cross the red line”. What red line would that be?

The two of them have long crossed and smashed lines of every colour and shade and you still serve as a pliant cat’s paw. Sabah gave your party a bloodied nose in their state election over your betrayal of Anwar Ibrahim’s rosy pledges and promise of change.

Yet DAP has not learned a lesson; you just kept on being silent, did not have a single thing to say, and let the prime minister rampage as he pleased. Token attention to others do not count, when his total focus is on Malays and Muslims. Isn’t everyone “anak saya”?

What role to you play in Government? You have been reduced to a pathetic battle cry of “Vote for Harapan; or else things will be worse under PAS”. How much worse, Ramkarpal? I do not mind being under PAS. Not because I find their cause tolerable but that they are at least sincere foes given to stabbing us in the breast.

This is anytime preferable to being pierced in the back by a so-called friend. Are we expected to support a band of traitors because the alternative is feared to be worse? If your DAP does not vote on Sunday to leave the coalition, this country’s demise is almost a sure thing – Anwar Ibrahim will forge further ahead with his ways and the non-Malays will face an unimaginable future. Ramkarpal, perhaps you and DAP welcome sitting at the back of the bus.

Headhunter : It’s a bit late to be making demands. Those should have been brought up when Anwar invited DAP to form the government. Knowing Anwar had no choice, you should have laid your cards on the table then.

In the rush to form the government, everything was offered by DAP on a silver platter, even at the cost of being short-changed on portfolios despite having a bigger haul of seats compared to PKR. In short, DAP ended up with the short end of the stick. Worse, you guys are now being blamed for a weak government.

Veteran 1972 : They crossed a major red line when PMX claimed a victory over the demolition of a Hindu temple. Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (PMX) faced heavy criticism and accusations of crossing a red line after using terms like "illegal temples" and calling for local councils to clear unauthorized structures.

He later apologized for the phrasing and stated no old temple was demolished under his watch. Tensions peaked after independent groups partially tore down a temple structure in Rawang, with lawyers for the groups attempting to cite the Prime Minister's statements as justification.

Accusations of Appeasement: Detractors claimed the rhetoric was a political maneuver aimed at appealing to the Malay-Muslim majority at the expense of the Indian community's historical and religious rights. So many lines crossed, please grow a pair!
