Malaysiakini : The Election Commission (EC) has been notified of the dissolution of Parliament made by outgoing prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob earlier today.
Its secretary Ikmalrudin Ishak said the EC would hold a special meeting to discuss and determine the dates for the 15th general election (GE15), which will be announced in the near future. The meeting will also discuss the Bugaya state by-election in Sabah, he added.
Meanwhile, the EC has now opened postal voting registration for GE15.
WhiteHawk4647 : SPR site does not work! What is happening? Wanted to register for postal voter but the site just could not be loaded. I'm smelling something fishy here...hmmmmm
5impleMind : I was the first to comment here about the erroneous link. And guess what? MalaysiaKini censored my comment. I told them there's an error in the link. There should not be a space after the last backslash and before the word "login".
Solo : EC has been making overseas votes more difficult. GE13 you have to go to the Embassy or High Commission to vote on Election Day. You put your ballots you filled out there, into election boxes at those locations.
GE14 you get mailed the ballots and you have to get signature guarantees and mail the ballots yourself. The ballots were reported as late, so some could not send it back in time to get it counted.
Read it all here, subscription required........GE15?
Newday : Don’t disadvantage the standard postal voter. Must be minimum 6 weeks for their pistal vote to count.
