Najib barred from campaigning in GE15 - Prison Dept

Malaysiakini : Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak will not be allowed to leave prison to campaign in the 15th general election.

Prison Department director-general Nordin Muhammad said Najib is subject to the Prisons Act and its regulations so long as he is serving a jail sentence.

“The situation and regulations are still the same... So long as he is still serving the sentence in prison, he is subject to the Prisons Act and regulations,” he said. He was speaking to the media at the launching of the Offenders Compulsory Attendance (Amendment) Act (Act 1660) at the Malaysian Prisons headquarters in Kajang, Selangor, today.

He was commenting on the stand of the Prison Department if there was an application from Najib supporters to give special permission to the incumbent Pekan MP to campaign in GE15.

However, Nordin said apart from a previous application for Najib to attend the Parliament sitting which was rejected, the department has not received any other applications from the former prime minister. Meanwhile, he again stressed that Najib is not receiving special treatment since he was sentenced to jail as alleged by some quarters.

It is not a year or two, 50 years. On my goodness! 50 years of dedicated work. Nordin, you may not even born at that material time. Najib is such a rare person in our history. He was the first ex-PM who became the guest of His Majesty due to his 50 years of service.

Now I need to contact his hot shot lawyer@hot shot doctor to file legal suit against you and your department tomorrow, first in the morning with certificate of urgency. Watch out!

Mujaheed : Dont try to bullsheet lah mr Noordin. One question, has ever najib been hand cuffed and made to wear prison suit when ever he was in prison or brought out of prison?
