PAS leader's statement taken, Himpit 'weapons' given to cops

Malaysiakini : The police have recorded statements from Marang PAS Youth chief Yusuf Abdul Hadi and several others who took part in the “Himpunan Pemuda Islam Terengganu” (Himpit) procession in Setiu last week.

Taking to Facebook last night, the son of PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang also said that the replicas of medieval weapons and armour paraded during the procession, which caused a stir on social media, have been handed to the police.

"Thanks to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) for the kind treatment accorded to us, and we will fully cooperate whenever needed. Also, thanks to Malaysians who have supported us throughout this predicament.

"We have no intention of annoying or provoking anyone. We just wanted to display to the younger generation, the greatness of the Rasulullah S.A.W and his friends, who have carried the torch of Islam until now," wrote Yusuf, who is also a Terengganu PAS Youth executive committee member, adding that the replicas were handed to the police last night.

Elaborating, Yusuf expressed disappointment that the replicas and the costumes, which were supposed to be the pride of Muslims, have been polemicised to create panic and fear, by Muslims themselves. "We surrender to Allah, and the fight continues."

Yesterday, Terengganu Pakatan Harapan chairperson Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad lodged a police report over the event held last Friday, claiming it was an act to intimidate and cause anxiety among the people.

Police take away the replicas of weapons used at the Himpit gathering in Setiu that the PAS Youth members handed over to the police

PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man earlier defended the procession, likening it to a Chinese opera where the actors also carry swords and spears. As such, he said, the matter should not be blown out of proportion.

Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal said criticism of the parade was an overreaction by the non-Malays and non-Muslims.The police have so far spoken to 12 people, including the organiser, to facilitate investigations.

Gen2 : PAS itself is a source of Islamophobia with its medieval cosplay soldiers. Yet it will blame Jews and DAP for the infidels' wariness of its Islamic agenda

JazliSalleh : Good that the police nip this nonsense in the bud. This is how terrorists are groomed.

BOBBYO : The fight continues. What fight ? Are we in a mode of war ? Who is our enemies that we need to carry even artificial weapons ?Who are we trying to threaten ? Isn't religion spread through preaching ? Or is Pas deciding to force people to believe in Islam, the moment they take over the nation ?

That is why they say that the nation or even religion do not need any outside enemies are enough to frighten away believers. Look at the Taliban, ISIS, Boko Haram and all the fanatical Islamic radicals. They have done enough damage to the good name of the religion, by interpretating or enforcing their beliefs on others by force.

Looks like Pas is the next one on the line to join them. Whether the weapons were artificial or not, the costumes and the march with these weapons is actually designed to send a message. If not why the wastage of manpower, time and monies invested in arranging such a program.

Politicks : A bunch of literates peoples dress in green for the purpose of afraid being labelled as political incorrect. Stupidity has been a disease that spread among its kinds.

BOSSKU Kaw Kaw : Why surrender the "weapon" to POLIS? Send it to Palestine to help kill the Yahudi.
