TV3 drops PN’s ‘takbir raya’ nine minutes to showtime By Malaysiakini Team

Malaysiakini : The broadcaster TV3 has apparently dropped plans to air Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) “takbir raya” ceremony tonight.

The five-minute slot was originally scheduled to be aired at 10.20pm and the coalition had already promoted the occasion on its social media channels.

This would have been likely the first time that opposition parties will have their takbir raya - the reciting of the takbir to mark Aidilfitri - broadcast on a national television station.

When the appointed time came, however, a TV3 online livestream instead aired a drama along with a series of commercial advertisements, including a Hari Raya Aidilfitri greeting from Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

JazliSalleh : Having PN on air gives no added value to the lives of the Rakyat. Attending parliament sittings and conveying value added ideas would be more beneficial to the Rakyat. Just ask yourself what have you done to uplift the quality of life for them. Merely spewing racial and religious hatred is useless.

just an ordinary guy : If the government did have a hand in it, I say good for them, especially after what Hadi said. It’s about time they fought back. To those who claim they will no longer support Anwar because of this, I don’t think they are his real supporters to begin with if they took issue with such a minor fight back against those responsible for abusing emergency AND overthrowing a democratically-elected government in 2020. And they want Anwar to continue playing by the rules? Wake up and smell the coffee.
